i just finished building my new computer. now i'm wondering what the next step(s) are(would) be.

for example: do i need to do any bios configuring, or should i reformat the hard drive right off the bat? or install the OS and then install drivers?

any help would be appreciated. please give me a general overview of how to do the things you recommend as well. thanks!
 
Once your finished assembly, pop in the windows CD. It wil automatically format your drives, once installed download the latest drivers or use the driver CD to get motherboard, LAN, sound and video drivers.
 
ok, i tried that, but the windows installer says it can't find a HD to install to. i'm using a WD SATA drive, and i'm sure all the cables are hooked up right because it shows up in the BIOS... anybody know what's going on?
