I will see it regardless. These kind of movies entertain me. I am still amazed they can turn 3 books into 3 movies, and 1 book into 3 movies as well.

Lord of the Rings wasn't three books.

It was intended as one large book; the published found it desirable to break into three as I recall. I think there were six sub-books, two each for the three published.

My copy in the 50th anniversary one large book edition.

I thing I'm ok with milking the Hobbit for three films; I just wish he'd do better with things like the Goblin King.

Considering the Elves are immortal would one of them really age that much in the span between the Hobbit and the LOTR series? That's what, like 50 years at the most? Either way I still find it odd that he looks entirely CG to me, has a different voice (at least in the first scene he appears in) and does not show in the credits on IMDB.

peter jackson butchered the hobbit, I went and saw the first film giving it a chance and I absolutely hate how he took the story which could of made one 2-hour long great film and drag the story out to make it take three separate movies. screw him, I loved the book but I hated what he did to the story... I will not go to the theaters to see either of the two sequels instead ill wait for them on home video. For anyone who hasn't read the book, its a great story and if you do read it you'll know exactly what I am talking about in regards to how Peter Jackson is simply trying to lengthen the story (as well as change it) to fuel his greed of wanting more than 1 movie.

Because I'd like to be able to watch movies again? Perhaps that's why I'm annoyed at how people eat up this terrible garbage?

I already lost videogames to moronic pop-culture asshats. Maybe I wanna watch a movie every once in a while that doesn't involve four hours of CGI elves and pixie farts? Perhaps I'm not still stuck in the third grade, i.e. reveling in medieval fantasy and having no taste?

Also, thinking that I watched the 'The Hobbit Part One' (also know by its actual title...'The Hobbit') clarifies how stupid you are, I would have to think. Bilbo Baggins can go suck a dick.

Does anyone else think the special effects are disappointing? The effects in the previous 4 films were a lot better. I hope they tidy that up before release as I really liked the first one.

i like the hobbit better than lotr, but i felt that was about the books as well. i dont love PJ as a director but the first part of the hobbit was fun, though overdone a bit.

Are you talking about from Hobbit -> LOTR? Or just within Hobbit series?

I'm fairly certain they filmed the whole Hobbit series and broke it down into 3 movies like they did with LOTR. I could be wrong though.

Between Hobbit and LOTR. I think it adds a good feel to the movies so many [all] of the original actors reprise their roles, pretty much regardless of screentime. It contributes nicely to the consistency of the 'universe' imo. Plus the two instances I can think of where major characters got replaced I was not particularly fond of, Dark Knight and Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me.

LOL so just b/c there are 2 more hobbit movies coming out you suddenly can't watch anymore movies?? WTF, you are stupid. Don't go watch it then. There are PLENTY of other movies you can watch. Why are you so fucking mad that there's another hobbit movie coming out?

And if you want to be accurate, the title of the first film is 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'.
