Next hair cut = Bald?

It is summer time and the heat is really present. For my next haircut I want to try shaving it all off.

Really though, if it doesn't look good I will be kind of screwed because I'll be stuck with it for a while. So the question is, is there any real way to tell what you will look like without hair, and should I risk it?

Look for giant moles. I have 2 just above my hairline that I didn't know were there until I shaved my head.

I've been shaving bald for years. No real way to tell how your head will look bald until you try it though. Maybe look at the older mens heads in your family and take a gamble based on their head shapes?

I just buzz mine at 1/4" every week and buzz my beard at 1/8" at the same time. Trim the beard with a dry razor each day.

Do it. I do it every year from about May through Sept/Oct depending on the weather. And if it doesn't look so good, after a week or two you'll look like you got a buzz cut anyway.

I've done it for the last couple years, either a 3 or 4 guard. I thought it would look like ass because my head is lumpy, but you can't tell at all.

I suggest getiing it buzzed down to a 1-setting on the clippers rather then shaving right down to the skin ... it'll be a lot more comfortable.
