Does anyone know if the next SFFs will be able to support Prescott/Athlon 64? Will Prescott's high heat diss. prevent this? Wut about Athlon 64's heat?

I think it will be fine, a company like Shuttle won't let heat get in their way. If it poses a high problem, then they can just put faster fans on it. The Opteron is doing fine so it should give you an idea of the Athlon 64.

The Opteron dissipates less heat than both the Athlon XP and the P4, so A64 should run in a Shuttle no sweat (no pun intended).

I doubt youll see a prescott one in time because thats gonna take some R&D. Maybe we can finally see a watercooling kit inside those boxes. Yes its been done and yes its a tight squeeze but once u take out that ice heatpipe its quite roomy in there.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Prescott/Athlon64 Shuttle system. Their SB62G2 system (Springdale chipset with RAID as opposed to the SB61 without RAID) has been coming "at the end of the month" since June. The last time I checked, it was coming "at the end of September". In other words, don't expect a Shuttle system the same day the chips are launched.

Fear not, my friend.

Of course, it's TheInq ... but no reason to think this isn't the real deal.
