The rear flanks look awfully Celica-ish to my eyes.

I consider this a step in the wrong direction. I really like the Bauhaus-inspired looks of the original TT, and this seems more like a homogenized mishmash of other people's cars.

IMO Audi will probably never make what I consider a true sports car (save perhaps their planned supercar, and we'll see about even that), because they have such a strong tendency toward incorporating understeer and gravitating toward safety at all costs. As such, the TT is more of a GT/personal luxury car than anything else, and will probably always be less fun to drive than a 3/4-series BMW. This makes style critical, and to me this car is stylistically-challenged compared to its predecessor.

Nope - to me the S4, and even the vaunted RS6, are sporty cars, but their propensity for understeer means they will never be as much fun as a well-sorted RWD car like a comparable BMW. That said, I won't be sad if I find one in my driveway with a big red bow around it!
