Audi had a 5 cylinder engine in the 80's, apparently worked fine. And it isn't the next NSX until they put the engine in the middle!

honda/acura also had a 5 cylinder Vigor in the 90s

honda/acura also had a 5 cylinder Vigor in the 90s
Merc had a 5-cylinder as well, and I believe Volvo still does (or at least it has within the past few years).

i wish people would stop calling it the new NSX. acura has said that is not an nsx, its just their next flagship sports car.
i realize that its the closest thing to a history/pedigree that this car has though.
