I saw the IS350 in person last week at the ATL autoshow. It looks better in person than in pics IMO.

BMW also had their new 3-series at the show, parked next to a 2005 330i Performance Coupe. The interior of the new 3 sucks and gives the car a cramped feel by comparison. The exterior of the new 3 isn't bad when paired with the right color and large wheels. But overall the old 3 is the better looking car. The premium HK sound system in the 3-series still gets my pick as the best premium, factory-installed audio system out there.

With the 3.5 it'll be fine. The 2.5 will probably be a little bit weaker, but nothing to cry a river over.

And I saw the IS350 at the Dallas Auto Show yesterday (I will get pics up today) - the taillights are ugly as sin. Sleek front/profile, and just a Bangled looking rear. That would be the perfect car otherwise.

Well, you can't really expect it to be light if it's a Lexus =p
It didn't really gain that much weight over the current IS300, nothing that the extra .5L won't take care of anyway.
The extra weight probably buys it better sound-proofing and better crash test ratings.

Anyways, all I have to say is that this is one fine specimen of a vehicle! I think it just crawled it's way onto my list of cars that I lust after...might have even completely displaced the BMW 3 series actually (save for the M3).

Of course the M5 is still solidly on that list but it's in a totally different price range (and thus, actual likelihood of owning range).

damn this nice. if the price was competitive with an Acura TL, i would probably have to get the Lexus. otherwise, i'll still be stuck driving FWD cars.
