Next Casio Military Spec Phone

Depends on what format you want.
They have an Android right now, and if I wasnt so in love with WP7 I would have picked up the Gzone Commando.

Most of the rest are the basic Casio OS, nothing special. Eventually they might make a WP7 device but I wouldnt bet on it.

Now that smartphones are so popular and you have to pick a platform first, then a device, I'd suggest that rugged phones aren't nearly as important to the market as they used to be.
I'd recommend buying something you like and then finding an Otterbox for it.

What is an otterbox?

This is their website. I've got one for my HD2 and from that one and the ones I've seen other people using they are the current best manufacture of ruggidized cases for smartphones right now.

They typically make three levels of protection for each phone. The lowest isn't much better then most cases out there. The second level is their commuter case and tends to be a good compromise on size and protection. The third level is the defender line and has some of the best protection I've seen in a plastic and rubber case.

I wish they made magnesium cases such as I had for my HP x4705 PDA but no one seems to make them anymore and if I have to use a plastic/rubber/silicone case these seem to be the best.

There is no otterbox yet for Samsung Galaxy S2 or Meizu MX.

Also how do we know that an otterbox is as good as a Casio Commando? has anybody done any tests?
