Subaru Legacy is nice and all, but it's not fun (I drove it 🙁 )

Are you on crack?

😕

compared to an RX-8 i'm pretty sure its not fun to drive

Everyone is still on crack.

3-400 LBs lighter and RWD vs AWD and a 9K redline

is not fun to drive

You have no idea what you're TORQUEing about.

i knew you would say something along those lines

but they are completely different cars

for spirited driving I would take an RX-8 anyday because I don't find running 1/4 miles over and over again "fun"

the RX-8 if fun for the same reason the mini cooper S is fun (even though the S is FWD)

I've driven both. I'll take the Scoob any day.

Some of us encounter this thing called weather from time to time.😉

The GT is awsome in the rain with the AWD. I could never, ever drive like I do now in the other cars (FWD or RWD) I have owned.

I'd also suggest an Audi S4 but I don't know how much time he likes his car to spend in the dealer's service dept.
How bad is the S4 with reliability? I like the car and was considering it... but it's kind of a pig (weight wise) and honestly I like something I can flick around a bit. Power isn't the greatest thing for me, but compared to the RX-8 anything in POWER is an improvement. Handling in the RX-8 is great, it flicks around really great... I just need something more 'mature' 🙂 Oh, and with better gas mileage!

The Audis in general tend to have more problems than most (from reading and personal experience).

No comments on the Mustang? The only thing I hate about Mustangs is their live axle rear suspension. Other than that, they're great cars.

Don't know anything about cars but I know you can afford a Saleen Mustang. The Extreme edition is 50k+ but I think the other two versions are in your price range. Of course, you can't fit more than two people in it.

if you don't mind a 2-seater, get a used NSX with low milage. It's nearly exotic.

I can't drive that every day though 🙂

I am leaning heavily towards the M3 because it's the blend of what I want... good handling, good looks (sleeper at a glance), good power, 'okay' gas mileage, stickshift, and seats four comfortably. The other option is an Audi S4, or the Boxster S. I will do more homework as I still have quite a ways before I'm getting anything. 🙂

I can't drive that (NSX) every day though

why not? In term of ride quality, i don't think it's any less civilized than a M3. The engine is just a 3.0 V6 and it's light weight so gas milage shouldn't be too bad. Maintanence cost should be at least on par with European cars.

I may be wrong coz i don't own any of those cars. I'm working toward a STi which you think is too boy-racer, but i just think of it as a rally car for the mass and i love rally racing.
