Because in anything other than the most extreme circumstances this is just a trans kid, who's already having an incredibly difficult time in life, wanting to play their favorite sport. These aren't fully grown, fully developed men pretending to be women in order to dominate a sport. If that were the case where are the widespread examples of this happening? Who gives a fuck if some trans girl wants to play JV soccer or volleyball or whatever, especially if they're on blockers or hormones.

I have no idea what level of competition it begins to matter, but certainly at the highest levels of competition it doesn't make any sense to me that trans females should be allowed to compete.

From a purely utilitarian perspective, I tend to look at benefits vs. negatives. Until someone can explain to me otherwise, the number of women negatively affected outweigh whatever benefits a trans female gains by potentially dominating female sport. A trans female can do anything they want in life except compete to be the best at female sports. Is that an outrageous constraint? I think it's a reasonable constraint.
