He read a book that tries to re-affirm his belief in democracy: a morally and economically bankrupt political system. This does not surprise me one bit. What are the odds he will pick up a copy of this? Not too good, I don't think.

No.

Now tell me what the point of your post was. I'd like to see if my suspicions are correct...

Funny, but I've read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" many times, but never "The Case for Democracy". Always to an audience.

NEWSFLASH!!!! Bush has even written a book! :Q

As a matter of fact, Bush has done more in his life than YOU probably could do in 5 lifetimes. You know, I don't make it a habit of defending Bush personally, but it's petty little verbal-turds like Martin's that just blow me away. It's like the school nerd making fun of the varsity quarterback. As much as I battle against leftists and "elitists", it's their IDEAS that I challenge. I can't believe the deluded still launch vacant attacks on the intellect of people they disagree with...

Feel free, it seems you people are the one with a Bush fixation. I've expressed my opinion of this topic... I'll see you in threads that might debate policy, not infantile personal attacks.

au revoir

You made a bold statement that Bush has accomplished more than he ever will...
isn't that open to interpretation?

I mean an accomplishment is defined as completed successfully with skill and grace.
Now if you can't think of anything...that's quite unfortunate.
You should really not make bold statements you cannot support.

Some could make valid arguements that bush has had a void of accomplishments...ie. a series of failures.
But im sure we can discuss this in other theads...cheers!

Ok, back on topic...

Since there has been a thread discussing the said book...
Anyone want to discuss the very hungry caterpillar...For Dub's sake? :)

Do you know what...i would honestly take that as a positive...you know reaffirming the american dream.
But there's one problem with that...the Daddy factor...and then the theory goes to sh!t.

The american people realize they can never make it to office, because a) most dont have the daddy factor, b) it has been shown that if you are intelligent, work hard, and serve your country...you get trash talked and sent to pasture :p

President Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, and he grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. He received a bachelor's degree from Yale University in 1968, then served as an F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. President Bush received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975. After graduating, he moved back to Midland and began a career in the energy business. After working on his father's successful 1988 presidential campaign, he assembled the group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.

He served as managing general partner of the Texas Rangers until he was elected Governor on November 8, 1994, with 53.5 percent of the vote. He became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms when he was re-elected on November 3, 1998, with 68.6 percent of the vote.

Edit: Whoops, might have confused Bush Jr. with the Sr. Fact check in progress.

Anyone would be hard pressed to accomplish more than he has.

The argument that he has had "more done for him" is crap. Everyone in a position of power has had "friends in high places."

What do you mean, accomplish more?

Didn't you know? P&N is chock-full of mayors, governors and heads of state who came to AT because they wanted to know what the best HSF for their overclocked Celeron was. They stuck around solely to educate us lowly bourgeois :p
