Just a comment on the first video linked, was that supposed to be news? If something wants to be considered news, it should probably lay off the hyperbole and report facts. Comments like "What kind of sickos" make it sound as bad as the propaganda they're trying to uncover.

The video isn't supposed to be news, at least not like the ones you see on TV.

As for the "sickos" comment, you have to remember that once ambulances are used for terrorist purposes, they loose their special status, and will be stopped and searched. If you delay an ambulance, that might harm a patient being carried, since you are delaying care, so at the end of the day you are harming the people you are supposedly fighting for.

Also, these guys transfered explosive belts while carrying patients, endagering the patients, so by all means -- they are sickos.

You cannot be further from the truth -- it was a trebuchet.

I saw them with my own eyes!! They have a hundred lined up on the border with Lebanon!!

As for the Australian: he must have folded due to pressure. Besides that, I'm not surprised that TheSnowman has attempted a propagandistic comment, without addressing the facts presented on the evidence linked.

The media always does this, report something in haste and when the story changes they are slow acknowledge it. Don't read any conspiracies into it.

hah spoken like a true Christian! Read as many conspiracies as possible.
Why?
because they are there. Plain and simple!

I'll tell you what heppened: a crowbar to the front widshield, a sledge hammer to the ventilation dome, followed by ripping of all the roof lining in the vehicle. Oh, and don't forget the rust -- like Michelle said in the video, Israel must have added Insta-Rust(TM) powder to their Hellfire missiles.

you guys are acting like it's a vast media conspiracy to make the Israelis look bad. That website keeps talking about "the media" as some monolithic entity that acts with one will, those doctored photos weren't the actions of a single person, the entire media is at fault.

Well, there is this concept of investigative journalism, but I doubt there was an investigation done here; in fact, I do more investigative journalism after I take a dump.

I don't know where were you during this conflict, but the media was way biased, reporting sensational news as fast as it could. Keep in mind that the number of civilians killed in the month-long conflict is far smaller than a single month in Iraq, or even Darfur. I don't recall the media reporting those event with as much pizzazz as they did this past conflict.

Also, maybe you should watch the ITV video (on the zombietime page), and you'll see how ubiased they were, and how much investigation they did.

Yeah, there is plenty of vaguely intelligent blather about the minute details of the incident...

That's how you debunk a lie, by addressing the minute details of the claim. If you'd like to argue against the analysis done, perhaps you should address particular aspects of it, instead of dismissing it outright without any reasonable argument.

but what is NOT explained is what really happened and why the media would lie about it like that.

I don't think anybody said the media is lying; inept, biased, sensationalism-driven -- yes, but not lying. All the characteristic mentioned above combine to produce these type of stories where no one even bothers to ask the obvious question: "hey, that hole looks too nice; don't these ambulances have something mounted there?". Remember the Al-Durah incident? That was big news at the time.

Clearly, if the Photoshop incident taught us anything that would be that these news corporations have been streamlined to deliver sensational news with minimal delay, and with no oversight.

You can go on and bicker about conspiracy theories, but at the end of the day a Hellfire is an anti-tank missile, and a VW ambulance is not a tank.

Nice -- avoiding the facts because you don't like who is delivering them....

If you'd rather continue living in denial, then I have for you the perfect cartoon.

Sorry, I don't get my news from MM or Coultier like you. WTF does that cartoon have to do with anything, you just found it clever and needed a reason to link it? Climb back under your bed and piss your pants.

The cartoon shows where credulous fools will end up....

If you wish to stick your head up your ass and ignore facts, then go ahead -- just don't complain about the aromas later on.

Let's test you with a hypothetical situation:
You in your apartment, watching Al-Manar. Meanwhile, a fire breaks in an apartment below.
Michelle Malkin knocks on your door and tells you to get out because the fire will soon consume your apartment as well.
What do you do?
  1. Grab some stuff, and run to the fire escape.
  2. Slam the door in her face and return to watch TV, while muttering "damn neocon bitch, racist baby killer".

I have a hunch you'll be going for #2.

Quoted for future record, this post was so dumb you are bound to edit it... LOL.

Yeah seriously...

This british journalist just had a point to prove. He had an agenda against Israel and what it was doing, and he used this story to convince other people. Nevermind the fact that this story was completely fabricated and unreliable... as long as it delivered the message they want, it makes it to air.

Simple astounding and ridiculous. These people are hypocrits, telling us we can't trust conservatives, and then broadcasting lies in retaliation. Simply unbelievable...

I don't think it was a "conspiracy" of the western media. Rather, it appears that the western media did an extremely poor job of fact-checking.

I've bolded a portion of your first paragraph above, because it misses the point: The ambulence was PRESENTED to the western media as destroyed by an Israeli missle. It wasn't the western media that dreamed that up; they were just reporting what they were told.

The problem is, looking a the photographic evidence doesn't just raise some doubts, it's conclusive. It's impossible that there was a "big fire", yet nothing inside the vehicle was burned. It's impossible that the ambulance was punctured by shrapnel from the explosion a few days before the photographs were taken, yet every hole is bent inward and is rusted (and it's equally impossible that the alternative theory - that vehicle was straffed by Israeli gunfire, since again there wouldn't be rust). It's impossible that there was a "big explosion" yet there really no damage at all within the vehicle.

So it's convincingly obvious that none of the claims made to western reporters about what happened to that ambulance were true. The question is, how could be western press be SO gullible? And how come the western press isn't trumpeting that this amblulence story was a fraud, perpetrated by Hezbollah? I don't hink it's a conpiracy, but it sure sounds to me like gross incompetence and a dereliction of responsibility.

Shhit..I just sort of realized.. the roof "structure" wasn't even dented... must been a Ginsu Knife tipped missile..

Even if the media wanted, they CANT always know the facts.
For example, if somebody in the IAF got intelligence that there is a major communication router of the Hez network (and we all know they have a big encrypted comm network) and destroying it will shut down a lot of communications. However, nearby there are many houses with innocent people who didn't even know of that router's existance.

That router is bombed, leaving a lot of destruction in the area. The media will rush and show it in the news, telling everybody that big bad bloodlusty Israel is targeting innocent civilians. And they won't even know what was the real reason behind the bombing, because there is nothing left of this router and nobody will tell them why it was bombed. They just CANT always know the facts, and it's not really their fault.

It is their fault, because they are wrong so often it's almost funny if it didn't affect the world in such a way.

The media have a responsibility, once proven wrong, to stop the presses and make the correction as big a news story as the false one. They don't do that, and it is entirely their fault then.
