The same goes for the rest of his write up. Its all speculation. And the writer does not take into account the fact that SNL does its skits based on what they think is funny NOT what they think is politically advantageous for a particular party. The popularity of skits are based on what viewers think is funny, not on what the media wants to report about it. imho there is some weight to this argument as opposed to the writers argument, that the media only reports the SNL skits that are pro-dem (or liberal in some fashion)
I agree with what you wrote, I just wanted to respond to this paragraph in particular. Conservatives vehemently defend Fox News as unbiased when it comes to reporting, because the raging conservative voices on the station are not newscasters, but political commentators like Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Savage, etc. Fine. Then they turn around and point the finger at comedy shows like Daily Show or SNL as being examples of the liberal media. What? Do you not see the complete hypocrisy this represents? Political commentators on a news network are allowed to say whatever they want and it doesn't count, but comedy shows on regular networks (or a network called "Comedy Central") are "the media"? That doesn't fly with me, and it's exactly the type of intellectually retarded argument that makes all these claims of the "liberal media bias" seem ridiculous.
And for God's sake, SNL? Really? That's your liberal media bias? I mean, the show caters to a very young audience; high schoolers and college age males, primarily. Always has. This group overwhelmingly supports Obama. SNL knows their audience and does programming to appeal to that demographic. Should Michael Savage do a pro-Obama rant just for fairness' sake? No, that would be absurd; his target demographic would never stand for it. Why should SNL be expected to offer equal time to anyone when they have never even claimed to be a news show? What a preposterous fucking claim this is...
