I don't live in Cali, but I will definitely think twice about buying any product from anyone who supported this bill. It's disgraceful to support this.

Interesting that the Knights of Columbus (Catholic Church) was the largest organizational donor that supported prop 8.

Its always sad when religion invades politics. =(

If you look up some of the supporters they are being trashed at a lot of review sites. I be willing to bet some will lose a lot of business over this.

That may be true... Either way it wont matter for long. Eventually it will be legal for Gays to marry in all 50 states. Its an inevitable evolution toward freedom and equality. 50 years ago, this would never have been tolerated. Today, its on the ballots and in the news. 50 years from now, it will be looked back on as we look back on Women and Blacks not being allowed to vote, and such other unequal things... It will just be a matter of history.

hmmmm, don't like the legal approach way of getting what you want out of the system, organize the community and coherce people into adopting your views. The only thing worse than a bigot is another bigot.

Do you honestly belive there will come a day when religion and politics in this country are completely separate?

Only when the Liberals start building concentration camps for Christians...

I'm seeing a whole lot of religious organizations on there. I would hope for their sake that the IRS doesn't get a hold of this and start checking whether or not their tax exempt status should be revoked.

For the last time, there is no such thing as "anti-bigot bigotry."

"I hate black people!"
"That's racist."
"How dare you not condone my racism! Bigot!"

Do you see how that conversation makes absolutely no sense? And even if we use the broadest definition of bigotry so that disagreeing with any opinion about anything makes you bigoted against it, there's a clear distinction between having a "live and let live" mentality and using that "bigotry" to try to take away the rights of a group of individuals. See if you can spot the difference:

"I hate it when blacks marry whites; it's just not natural."
"I agree. It's disgusting. Rest assured, none of MY children will ever marry a black!"

versus

"I hate it when blacks marry whites; it's just not natural."
"I agree. It's disgusting. Hey, let's change the law so they can't!"

I have no problem with bigots as long as they keep their bigotry in their own homes and out of the public eye... But then again, I'm not trying to take away rights from the homophobes.

Rats, here I am in Indiana, and I see very few or any organizations I can quit buying from. Its just not possible for me to give less to the Catholic Bishops than I did last year.

Even though I voted against this horrible ballot initiative, I won't let the donations FOR it affect me in the slightest. GAWD FORBID anyone should be entitled to their opinion, regardless of how wrong it is...
NONE of the churches get any of my money (except what Bush gives them) so there's no issue there, and if any company chooses to donate...it's their money to do with as they choose. By the same token, if someone chooses to boycott someone for supporting this horrible ballot initiative, that's their personal choice.

My ONLY big objection is that NO PERSON, NO ORGANIZATION, NO PAC that is not Kahleeforneeya based should be able to donate to a strictly Kahleeforneeya political campaign.
IMO, there's no "freedom of speech" issues. State politics should be influenced solely by the residents of that state, not people, companies, churches, etc., from outside the state.
