Has anything been leaked/rumoured lately? Have been busy and not paying attention to hardware news. I remember people on this forum claiming it would be out by Q4 2012, but the last I heard (August 2012) was Q3 2013?
Nothing's changed, it will be released sometime next year.
Intel have no rivals against SB-E, so they are cruising and making obscene money.

Yep, agree on that. Glad I went IB on release day. People were trying to convince me to get a 3820 since IB-E "would be out soon" and provide an upgrade path. Right.
Consider that to be an improvement over all the people/rumors claiming that IBE was outright cancelled and would never be released :\
People forget server validation and tests takes alot longer time.
On that note, whatever happened to 3970X?Consider that to be an improvement over all the people/rumors claiming that IBE was outright cancelled and would never be released :\
At least now the rumors are a little less absurd and a little more aligned with reality.
People forget socket 1366 came first

3970X is supposed to be the SNB-E speedbump. IVB-E would presumably be 49xx.3970X is only on the IB-E roadmap aint it? So if no 3970X in Q4...
Funny how the "validation time" has increased dramatically going from SB-E to IVB-E. 🙄
Who in their right mind would use a pricey socket 2011 CPU over a socket 1155 CPU anyway? A damn fool, that's who. 1155 is better than 2011 for various reasons. Most of which will soon be addressed in this thread.
