Do you get this? I was in the restroom this morning going #2, and in my head I hear NEWS anchors from around the world covering the events as they unfolded, as if I was an upside down volcano or something, like MT Saint Helens or something epic like that. Do you get this?

I feel bad about laughing out loud when I read the OP and the replies.

No I have not had this happen to me.

I get the third person narrative. I guess it's from reading so much.

"He stands resolute, watching the golden stream as it strikes the water. The sound is therapeutic as always, though he notes that there is an abundance of foam forming in the wake of his discharge. He remembers for the thousandth time that he is overdue for a medical checkup, and then just as quickly forgets again..."

If you start doing your #2s outside, you can experience real news anchors covering the events as they unfold. "Police are putting the suspect into the back of the squad car now..."

I can't stop them. Now its like this:

::What do you think about this one Larry?::

::Well you know, Tim, we're just as real as this guy and yet he pretends he can't hear us. I'm calling this one a liar, Tim::

I think the weirdest thing I do is talk to my cats and my dog, which sometimes I'm like, shit... I am so odd for having a convo with them.

But nope, this definitely beats that by a long shot.

Oh yes, this is normal. Happens to me all the time. Sometimes it is Peter Jennings, and other times it is Wolf Blitzer. Once it was Dan Rather. What's the frequency, Kenneth? I don't know.

A long time ago, my favorite cat was dying from kidney failure or something. He pissed himself and was always wet from piss. I came home really drunk from the bar, threw myself on the ground and hugged him and rolled around with him all covered in his cat pee, and you know what? I didn't even care.

Are you serious or are you just making this up for shits and giggles?

How can I tell the difference? A voice in my head can either be my own, or not be my own, but either way my brain generates it so its my own anyway. I mean right?

I'm sorry I don't understand the answer you gave to my question. Are you saying yes, that you are just making this up for shits and giggles?

No, I'm not. I was taking a shit and it sounded like a team of news anchors were covering the events as they unfolded.

I talk to my cats every day.

But talking to a dog is insane, you may need to seek help.

Well just be glad you don't live in the Dark Ages, otherwise you might have been subjected to trepanning.

That happens to me too. Weird as fuck.

I used to think I was weird for doing that too, until I realized that pretty much all pet-owners do it too.

That's the same part of the brain that assigns agency to stuff, you know, the religious part. We talk to animals even though they don't talk back or understand language. Atheists do this and they think they've had victory over their religious brains, yet there they are, talking to fucking cats and dogs.
