A very Huge fire becomes Uge(Yuge) on the news **LOL**

It's not a northern or southern thing because I've spent my life 50/50 in each area. Is it laziness?

It's British, actually. Maybe they're trying to sound sophisticated. I have never noticed this, however, I do my best not to watch the news. I listen.

Donald Trump does that. Sounds stupid.

The dialect that most TV news people learn to speak (General American) is based around Iowa, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

What really irks me is when condoleeza says "ah-LIES" instead of "AH-lies". In my entire lifetime, I've never heard anyone else pronounce it that way.

My dad says it like that. Drives me nuts. He also says "U-mans" instead of humans. He does it for everything that starts with an H and has a U next.
