Newly built PC will not boot

I am building a new PC. (see details of PC below).

The PC does not boot. The LED on the board is on therefore the board has power.

The PC power main cable (24-pin) is firmly connected. The PC power secondary cable (4-pin) is also connected. The cable for power switch at front of PC is connected (I believe to correct pins).

I removed the hard drive and the DVD reader. No change.
I reset the the memory chips . No change.
I cleared the BIOS. No change.

Can someone give me hints of what to look for?

Chip: AMD Athlon X4 630
Board: ASUS M4A785TD-V evo
Case: Cooler Master Sileo 500
Memory: Crucial 2 * 2 GB
Cooler: Zalman CNPS 7500
Mouse: Logitech SBF-96 P/S2
Keyboard: Logitech Classic 200 USB
Everything is brand new.

What PSU do you have?

You may want to pull it out of the case and see is you can get it running. There may be something causeing a short. Like a standoff in the wrong spot.

Might be a case short.

Re-examine your PCB and make sure nothing is touching the case. Also make sure there are no extra spacers (Those yellow things you put your board on) that are touching the board without going through the proper board mounting spots.

I am using a Antec Earthwatts 430 that I used for a year on another PC. I had no problems with it.

Re-examine your PCB and make sure nothing is touching the case. Also make sure there are no extra spacers (Those yellow things you put your board on) that are touching the board without going through the proper board mounting spots.

I forgot to install it and then partially removed the board and somwhow put it in. I probably have a bad short in there somewhere. I will take it all out.

I bench tested the board with the CPU and memory sticks. I had the power switch connected.
Nothing happened. (I used the method showed in sticky number 2 from MechBgon)

What should I test next?

By the way, thank you for prompt answers. I was so amazed that I went to test without proper
acknowledgment of the great helpers.

Try it with just one stick of RAM and try the RAM in different slots.

I had this happen. It was driving me nuts for like two weeks then I looked a little closer lol.

I tried each stick in all four slots. Nothing.

Try shorting the power switch pins on the motherboard with a piece of metal (screwdriver works well). The power button on the case might be broken.

Another problem!

The monitor showed the POST and gave me info once.
Now the monitor beeps twice and the systems turns off after 2-3 seconds.
Could it be a problem with my old monitor?

I solved the problem by clearing the CMOS.
