Well, that's basically it. Just wondering if you guys recommend me to wait for the new iPhone or if I should go for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Edge or no. As for my other tech: I have an iPad, but I have a windows ultrabook and I am quite capable of connecting an iPhone with a windows system, so that wont be an issue.

I will likely make a decision within two weeks anyway, just want to hear you guys' opinions before I decide ():)

it really depends on your preference and tastes, but if you like to tinker and customized stuff, android is a sure winner ,and galaxy S6 edge is the best choice.

honestly, IMHO, neither, I really dislike iphones, mainly because of itunes and apple. And my experience with sammy isn't any better. cannot stand their skins.

personally I would wait for the 2015 X to come out; or at least be announced and decide then.

With a question like this, it's never about asking what phone first.

The first question is: Which OS do you want to use?

From there, phones can be figured out.

So, figure out if you want your phone running iOS, Android, or WP. I'm including WP just because WP10 is looking to be very nice, but I'm still a bit wary about whether devs will convert their apps. If they do, it just might be my goto OS.

If you can wait for the iPhone why wouldn't you do so to see what the new model offers? Decide after you are looking at real shipping products.

I am a HUGE Android phone fan and I even think this year's iPhone 6+ will be an amazing phone. By all logic is should be.

Watch those jerks stick to something stupid like 1GB of RAM or a 720p screen just to ruin what could be.

If they actually put OIS on the normal sized one it won't be that bad.

Apple could very easily make the 6s the best phone ever if it has the following very realistic features:

-a 1080p or better screen
-2GB of ram (FINALLY)
-A SoC near or better than the iPad Air 2
-12MP plus camera with OIS
-Some sort of wireless charging
-Split screen functionality on the Plus model

All that seems very reasonable to me. Of course 2GB of ram seemed reasonable to me in 2014, let alone 2015. We will see what Apple does.

They wont do too much of an upgrade as it would mean they cant sell another one the following year. Actually, most top tier smartphone companies wont do that. The S6 surprised me, but, with removing battery and SD slots maybe they will put one or more back in the S7. This way they sell more phones.

The 'S' update is an internals boost right? I can't see Apple not putting in a nice fast CPU and 2GB of RAM in that case.

I think if you're looking for the best S6 package and assuming you've got AT&T then the S6 Active. Sure it's slightly ugly compared to the S6 Edge but, bigger battery, rugged frame and same internals as the Edge means in a week when my contract is up I'll be buying the Active for sure...

Realistically, you'll probably see 2GB of RAM and iPad Air 2-class (or faster) processing power, a 12MP camera (maybe with OIS on the regular phone?) and possibly the multi-window feature on the 6s Plus. But this is an "s" release, so I wouldn't expect a display upgrade or wireless charging... they're not likely, anyway.

Personally, I don't mind the "750p" screen on the 6, because it's just sharp enough to be clean and usable. I'd like 1080p, of course, but I can wait another year for a higher-res screen.

Depends on which fanboy you're more of. Lot of application I use are made for android, so why don't you go with the newest Samsung phone?

If tradition holds the newest iphone will be as fast or faster than anything on the market upon release, so that's no problem. Apple always tends to include some manner of "killer app" type addition too. It's usually something that could be had on android phones in some form years ago, but never implemented quite as well as apple does it (fingerprint recognition, apple pay, etc). A lot of the phone's appeal depends on whether that x factor ends up meaning anything to you.

Personally it's so close to when apple normally releases the new Iphone that i'd just wait to see whether it's got anything you absolutely must have. If not, then go with the best android phone out at the time.

Posts like these make me laugh. Listen, you either know you like iphone or you know you like android in which case you won't change sides just because one of them came out with a new phone. And if you DON'T know which one you like then your experience with phones is so low that you can just get a cheap LG or Motorola and be happy.

One doesn't have to just love the iPhone or Android phones. Some of us have plenty of love in our hearts for both and can struggle trying to pick which one to go with. I have both and I struggle with this frequently as I go between my iPhone 6 Plus and Note 4, depending on my mood.

Both are great phones. They have their own strengths and weaknesses. You can try to decide which OS you like more. Some people will certainly have a preference one way or the other. I tend to find them to be a wash at this point. There are things about iOS I love and things about Android I love.

Things I like about the iPhone. Hardware/software harmony, instant OS updates, beautifully designed hardware.

Things I like about Android. Highly customizable OS, file system access, variety of hardware.

Looks like Lola hasn't had an Android phone. So the one thing to consider is how invested you are into the iOS apps. If you've bought apps on iOS, you may need to buy them again on Android. However since you haven't had an Android phone, maybe now is a good time to give it a try. You can get the Galaxy S6 now. While the next iPhone is still about 2 months away.

Just bailed on AT&T (finally) and got an S5. While it's not small, these 6" phones just feel too big for me. There may be reasons to pick the Apple offering over others, but I just can't see them. Samsung is getting smarter about bloat, and the S5 running 5.1.1 is snappy and easy to use. Just my $.02.
