I tried out both the newest wz bios, and i get lock ups all the time in windows on my overclocked system. I flash back to the old wzb01 bios and its stable as hell. Anyone else experiencing problems with the new bios?

You are not alone. As soon as I overclocked it froze just after the desktop loaded. I even tried a higher voltage.

WZ.03 is very stable for me though.

Hmmm, I was going to flash with the final version. I guess I will stick with the wzb01 cause it's working great.

I was having the same problems with wz04 and wz final - immediate lockups once windows loaded. I just reflashed wz final but this time cleared the cmos after the flash, and that seemed to help (or it was possibly coincidence). Also, some people have reported upping the core voltage in the newest bios helps stability.

I'm using the WZ04 bios and now my 1 gig goes to 1.07 rock stable at 1.8v
No lockups and runs great.
I had to reformat to change my motherboard from the Fic AZ 11 I was using.
I ordered that Bios savior from Multiwave and it is a Godsend.
Just flip the switch to go back to old bios, makes experimenting with bioses a breeze after I hosed mine. Won't run a system without it now.

NO probs with z04 bios here. D700 runs at 947 now at 1.725V at 150 degrees. I did set Core to 3.4 though, but I have had it that way all along.

oops, glad I read that again. 105F.

Somebody reported that the CPU temperature reaches 40 C during boot with the WZ bios(es). I noticed the same on my setup under the bios screen "PC Health". This 40 C is quite hot considering I only got 43 C when running heavy 3D games on a Tbird 1.2 GHz. So if your HSF is borderline you may experience lockups due to CPU overheating when loading Windows. Mine has no problems with a FOP32. You can check this by resetting immediately after freezing and quickly go to PC Health screen to see how hot it gets.
