The newest member to my F@H mini-team is Cassandra Anne.
She was born Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 15:53. She came in at a fighting weight of 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.
Mom, Cassandra, and myself all came home from the hospital this afternoon. The delivery went well, although mom was a bleeder, so that was dicey for a little.
Being the curious person that I am, I stayed south the whole time so I could see everything from start to finish. My wife was induced, so I was fortunate enough to see all of the contractions, and what pushing really does. I watched every last bit of what was done to my wife and when the heavy uncontrolled bleeding came, it was a little tense. She stabilized quickly after some crazy ass super needle was stuck in the belly (she has a lazy uterus - I knew I called her a lollygagger for a reason).
I was about to type how good Cassandra Anne has been about not crying......and a diaper change, pacifier, and 31 minutes later my post is still sitting here.
Mom and baby have been sent to bed. I'm enjoying a beer while I can knowing that in an hour and a half I'll be feeding and diaper changing again. Mom went through enough so she deserves her sleep (not that she will).
Enough of all that boring stuff. Here are some pictures of my little peanut.

Cassandra the burrito
Cassandra sticking her tongue out at me....won't be the last time.
Another cute picture in her straight jacket...

The weather in Chicago is nasty cold out (high of 4*F tomorrow). Being a father for the first time, I let the car warm up for half an hour. It was like a sauna in there.
