Hey all...
Just wanted to ask if you can use ANY antennas to hook up to a N-class wireless router. I have currently just purchased a new Dlink 635 N wireless router. It comes with 2 removable antennas that are pretty small.
Last year to increase the range of my older wireless router I had bought these 5 or 6 or 7 db increase antennas that are larger and have a nice long cable to better position them. Does the N protocol use different antennas? Would these standard Dlink antennas work on these new N type routers or is it a totally different technology?
My problem is that my router sits in this cabinet near my phone line. I always had the antennas out of the cabinet and sitting out top -- this way you only see the external range boosting antennas rather than the whole mess of router, modem, cables and adaptors ad the antennas at least this way were freely exposed and maybe had less interference with all the wood metal and glass of my cabinet.
