at least it's centered.
i agree with arod on the search.
some of the changes are better (search on top) but the 2 columns makes everything very smushed. and then with anyone using widescreen, it really sucks. i like the format but how about 3 columns instead of 2?

now I know why they raised their prices and have been decreasing their customer support skills... they hired a bunch of webmasters

I don't think their prices changed...

Well...good and bad. Why the hell is it all compressed up in the middle of the screen leaving the left and right empty? I'm looking at it on a 22" monitor and wonder why would they waste all that real estate on both sides. Also it makes the reviews of products and the products themselves scrunched in a smaller space.

Other than that I like the compare buttons. Pick a couple of video cards for example and get a side by side comparision. What would also be nice on all their products would be a small pic of said product, much like you'll see on Price Watch. Seems like it makes finding stuff easier.

Newegg wants your opinion good or bad,I'm going to email them both....

LOL,makes you wonder if the powers to be at Newegg think most of their customers are still chugging along on their Acer 15" monitor.

Damn...widen the whole frigin thing out and if anyone bitch's sell them a NEW monitor!!

I'll let the e-mail I sent to newegg speak for itself. The changes suck.

I like:
* I like the paginated Deals on the home page. Nice to flip through them by page easily. Thumbs up.

I don't like:
1) Site info should adjust in width to your screen resolution. I've only got a 19" monitor at 1024x768 but the new site only takes up about 2/3 the width of my screen cause it's set to an 800 pixel width. Really limits the info displayed.
2) When I pull up the info on an item, the item's "Specification" info needs to be at the top, above Customer Review comments. I don't want to scroll down to find out what the CAS of the RAM, or the speed of the DVD drive i'm looking at. I want the item specs fast when I'm comparing products.
3) On the old site, we used to be able to specify how information was displayed. We could turn the pictures on/off, view summary or complete info. I really liked having those options. It's a shame to lose that. For example, right now I can only get 4 complete product listings to display, making it hard for me to compare items & prices.
4) The Search fields need to be either on the side, or just as a tab to open. It takes up too much room at the top of the screen, limiting the amount of info displayed. Honestly, I don't shop by keyword much. The most useful tools are shop by Category or Brand. Yeah, I think I'd turn the Keword Search into a tab at the top to minimize it's size/impact.
5) Two vertical bands of info on left and right only allows 2 columns of products to be displayed on home page. People who go to Newegg are system builders. They want info, not gimicky fields. Get rid of the Quick Links, Popular Brands, Recently viewed items, & Top 10 Sellers. Combine both side columns into one, we can see more product info on the page.
6) You trying to model your site after big retailers like BestBuy and CircuitCity? There's too much color, and the colors are too dark. Make the site simple, not flashy. We want info, not pretty.
7) Speed of searching new site is a little slower.

Conclusion:
I'd be 100% happier with the old site, because I get more product information. Go to the new site without correcting some of these major issues and you're going to lose customers.

- A dedicated Newegg.com fan who is disappointed that information is taking a back seat to asthetics.
