Ok, everything was fine with the 7900GT so far until today when I took it out of my old PC and put it into my new PC. This was the first time since I had first installed it and began using it, that I unplugged my monitors from the card. When I unscrewed the little thumb screws on my monitors' cables (connected to the 7900GT), the little nuts that they screw into on the card's dvi connectors (two per DVI connector, one on each side of the DVI connector), came out with the monitors' cables' screws.

Is this normal? I did not screw the monitors' cables' thumb screws in hard. They were actually kinda loose. I don't understand how those little nuts that the thumb screws go into, came out.

Anyway, I have put those little nuts back on the card.

I've had the little nuts that the thumbscrews screw into come off on cards before, just sticke them back in. No biggie. If you want, stick them in, then use pliers to tighten them down

Thanks Sparky. I tightened them with pliers as soon as I got them on. They don't look new now though. 😛

I don't ever remember this happening to any of my video cards. Happened to one of my old HP's onboard video though.

a knife slash on a vidcard box wouldnt bother me. and loosening mounting screws by tightening/untightening is common - def not neweggs fault
go get a beer and relax
