Was that for the HX or the TX? The HX series is always much more expensive.

HX.
Corsair MIR bought the price down to $129.99, eBillMe instant rebate brought it down from that to $114.99

I recommended it to someone there in September, I bought mine in November 2 months later after that.

Protip: Wait for the Corsair MIR to be $40(usually every 1-2 months)...Check ZZF, Chief Value, and others periodically once to twice a month...The MIR is different among them at times!!!

But not to thread crap...since ZZF is OOS on it, Newegg is a warm deal worth considering for those who don't already have it.

sadly the deals just ain't what they used to be... i'm visiting in dallas this week, and can't even find a good reason to go over to frys... the only deals that are anything worth looking at are a i5 750 combo with sli/xfire mobo for $200 and a i7 860 combo with usb3/new sata for $300... and those ain't nothing to write home about...

That is a deal? I bought the same processor in June of 2008 for 184.99.

Well when you take in account with some mild OC this processer still can make $600+ CPU's look slow (for gameing) its still a great deal and consistantly a top seller. Its the last generations "OCing king" for a realistic price. But i do agree, it was like $200 when it came out, you would think it shoul dbe hitting hte $100 area.. but i guess if we keep buying um at that price, they will keep selling um.

Actually, other than the MSI 5750, this is the only deal that really caught my eye:
Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
$69.99
Your Price: $54.99
EMCYSNS48

By far the cheapest it's ever been, and a better/faster drive than the 750GB Black.

The Black is the fastest of the Green, Blue, Black series. And I just got the 750GB for $60 shipped. Great deal.

Yes, I made a mistake there. The 750 Black is faster than the 640 Blue. I was thinking of the 640 Black, which is faster than the 750 Black, according to various tests I've seen. The 750 Black for $60 is a great deal, though.

Also what would have been the better buY?

Newegg blows. Last time I did a build, I looked at Amazon and all components were cheaper there.

ahh... I don't factor MIR's and one time shots like ebillme into my buying decisions any more. It's just too much hassle.

The Newegg one has a MIR. Without it, you'd pay $140 for it if you were to buy and not factor it into your buying decision.

Great reason to consider AMD if you're an Intel fanboy with a budget imho.

Newegg has been great at hyping up their so-called great deals. They have NOT been able to back up all of that hype though. Those stupid Guerrilla promotions is one of the worse they've ever come up with.

These hign hype, low bang deals is probably a glimpse of how they will be when they become a public company. Its a shame really....

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to post.
