Isn't saving money is what this hot deal is about? What's the point then? go to retail and pay 50 dollars more, yea it so much better

It is so much better when you are talking about refurb vs retail new.
Have you bought refurb from newegg? I didnt think so newb, come back when you have to send a refurb back 3x for one item. You = toolbag.

It is in the post, what a dork :-\

Its not in the title moron, thats what we are talking about.

HAHAHAA VERY WELL SAID! I completely agree with you. Why be cheap and buy a Refurb just to save $6~$7 (Yes NewEgg has the SONY 16X DVD Dual Layer on SALE ofr only $47.99 with FREE SHIPPING which is only $6~$7 more than the Refurb since it's $4 shipping for Refurbs on top of the $37 costs) and then have a higher chance of DOA and RMAing it, wasting time, shipping money and headaches? Maybe some cheap arses can relate and andswer the question, but I definately will be buying the SONY unit from NewEgg once I make sure the unit is compatible with most blank DVD media.

If NewEgg had the Pioneer Unit ON Sale I would Jump on it in a heart beat. 😉

Refurbs are a crap shoot. IMHO a refurb should be at least 60% less expensive than the lowest price of a comparable new product, if not 50%. Sadly, people think they're getting a good deal when they're really gambling. Sometimes, in the case of manufacturer-refurbished items from a reputable company (ie, HP) it might not be a bad deal. Depends on the refurbisher. I'd be very very wary of non-manufacturer "refurbished" products.

Have a nice day.

Nice use of the english language.

And you are the one calling me a dork??? 😕 LOL...

Maybe you'll come to understand the difference between 'post' and 'title' someday.

I just do not believe that a refurbished drive for $10 less than a brand new and better
drive is a 'hot' deal.

I did have an interest until i saw they were refurbed, and im trying to warn the masses of my bad experience with refurbs from newegg.
IMO, this is not hot at all.
/parts thread.

I'm not a fan of refurbs from newegg either. I believe newegg refurbs are rarely manufacturer refurbishments and are almost always customer returns that are resold. Given the risk of return postage, even the risk of needing to return a second refurbed replacement - its worth it to pay the extra $10 imo and get a new one.

I've bought many refurbish in the past and I can say that it does have some minor problems as lockup, or other defects. So you still get what you pay for but the point here is that if you are a techie and just want to save big $$$ then it's a great deal.
For the rest, pay more for new stuff because you don't have time to fiddle with them.

You sir have a nice day as well because you see deals like this only comes around once in a year. Sorry if it is not hot enough for you, newegg may need to lower their price even further say 20-30 bucks then it is fair to offset the risk you are taking. They did that for mobo so I don't see why they cannot do it with anything else.

Again,

Please don't complain to me, complain to newegg's bad marketing practice 😉

And how does she know this kind of deal comes around once in a year? You work for NewEgg or something?

Why would we complain to NewEgg for bad marketing practice? We are complaining about YOU doing bad "Hot Deals" posting practice, unless of course if you work for NewEgg, then we WOULD complain to NewEgg in hopes of getting you FIRED!

NOW Shhhhhhhh... NO MORE POSTING PLEASE! You're So Called "Hot Deal" has already ended.

I am offended by your name calling. You owe me an apology. If products don't sell because of your bad mouthing, they may have legal rights to sue you for lost profits.
You are wasting my time so I'll just end it here.
