Well, I see the quarterbacks have arrived. ;) I took aphexII's advice after calming down a little and tried calling them again, this time making sure to get a different rep. The girl I got this time is named Sophia and was worlds apart from the first one. She offered to send replacement drives with no shipping charge and THAT I can live with. That way I'm only out the return shipping to NewEgg (and since USPS priority isn't nearly as high as NewEgg's shipping charges, I'm not so upset).

I've ordered a TON of stuff from NewEgg with nary a problem from my end. That speaks well for both ends of the deal I would think, but that doesn't seem to factor into their thinking at all. I've had one occasion to RMA something to MultiWave and that was a totally different experience. Their prices are THAT much higher than NewEgg yet they still treat you with fairness (in fact I was astounded by how well Multiwave handles similar situations.)

You guys can say what you will, but with the return policies in place at NewEgg being what they are - the forfeiture of the original exorbitant shipping charges assures them of profit even if they ship junk they know will be returned. Not too cool in my book.

I considered going back to WD with this, but given the time frame it seemed more appropriate to go back to the seller.

Glad you at least got a better deal. It does suck that you're out a few bucks shipping, but at least it's better than before.
