Wonder why they have a 279 and 329 flavor? Specs seem the same on newegg.
How is the reliability/warranty for Sapphire?

Have you guys seen the reviews for that? I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole.

It looks like that's a non-reference card all the way through. Not only is the cooler different, but it's the same PCB as on the 5850 Vapor-X.

Yeah don't hold your breath if your hoping to overvolt that card for better overclocks.

I'd wait and see what happens to pricing once Thermi comes out fully. I got a HIS5850 for 264 no rebate last month at the egg. I fully expect prices to come down to at least MSRP again.

Green Screen of Death was partially drivers issues that have been fixed. You just have to follow the rule of downloading the latest drivers from the web site.

Actually with the PCB & Cooler on this card it will be able to handle some over volting. It's not as good as the VaporX but it's still a good card.

Sapphire is one of the top suppliers of ATI cards. I've purchased cards from them for years and never had a bad one, the oldest being a X1950 512mb that I OC'd by 10% and it still runs fine.

Non reference PCB = usually there is no way to control the voltage on it. As fasr as I know you can't overvolt vapor-x cards.

That's most likely because of the bios that's incompatible with MSI's Afterburner for example. Flash it with an MSI-bios, and voila ..

I don't know how custom the pcb is exactly, but sapphire's buildquality is pretty good. In fact, it's really a myth that there's a huge difference in build quality between vendors ...

It's the same price in US Dollar as it is in euro's. If I were in the market, I'd grab two :)

Well I read that flashing MSI reference card bios or their custom card bios on another different non reference board card = bricking the card. Not that I have tried it mind you.

Ya newegg is like that with their listings. You buy the one that is less. Just make shure it says new , and not open box or anything,,

5970 for 300 dollars sounds more attractive to me.
