Newegg website in beta testing (EDIT)

Not a hot deal per say but nice new site

Perhaps since it's not a hot deal nor related to any hot deal, it shouldn't be posted in the Hot Deals forum but maybe the Off Topic forum since it's off topic. Just a thought.

(and had you checked there, you would have found several threads already created about it)

Oh god here we go I'm gonna be covered in POO from all the thread crapping now, oh well I just figured hey a nice new look to a great site with some great deals on it, why not in the hot deals forum, ugh guess I was wrong....lol

Unreadable fonts on my 1600x1200 CRT.

Great, why do people have to hardcode fonts? Will they ever learn?

The old site was perfect font-wise.

Dude you must not be using a current version of Firefox cause that's all I use and it works just fine for me.

When are website admin's going to realize that more graphical doesn't equal more functional. Ever since pricewatch's little makeover I haven't been back. I hope this beta doesn't reflect newegg's final design.

A new site will not fix what is wrong with newegg. I was a big booster and a big spender in the early days, when the prives were better, the CS was good and there were enver any rebate deals. In those days, newegg was the alternative to other vendors, now I need an alternative to newegg.

Using Firefox (latest) and the site does screw up if you are using larger fonts.. matter of fact, it can get downright unreadable since the text gets mashed all together.
This also happens with IE, so it is just bad coding.

I vote for the old site. The beta crowds too much stuff into too little space and requires more work to get to the place you want. It might look fancy but the old site is more functional and practical. They could have passed along the money it cost to do this redesign into lower prices. The old site worked just fine if you ask me (even though no one did).
