Newegg vs ClubIT vs Performance PCs

I have never ordered from ClubIT or Performance PCs before, but have ordered tons of gear from Newegg over the years. For my current build, I priced out my parts list and found that ClubIT had the best pricing on most of the items, but their shipping was MUCH higher than Newegg. Still, with the shipping premium, the gear from ClubIT came out to almost $100 LESS than the same stuff shipped to my door from the egg.

SO, I decided to give ClubIT a shot and see how their service is. I also decided to order a HSF at the same time from Performance PCs, ($50 cheaper than Egg). There were a few items that Newegg actually had cheaper than both of the other suppliers, so I decided to order gear from all 3 suppliers.

I placed all 3 orders Monday AM at 9AM. I received confirmation emails from all 3 saying that my orders had been received and were being processed. Newegg sent me another email saying my card had been charged 30 minutes later. This was all of my correspondence from yesterday.

This AM I awoke to an email from Newegg saying my order had shipped and would be delivered today. I also had a message from Performance PCs updating my invoice and showing as shipped out this AM. I have still not received any confirmation from ClubIT.

Keep in mind that ClubIT states that some orders may take 24-48 hours before shipping and they ship 5-7 day ground, so none of this is contrary to their policy. I just thought it would be interesting to order from 3 companies at the same time to see who got their order to me first and how fast each company shipped the items.

So far, ClubIT had the best price. Newegg had the best shipping and service. I will update this thread about the ClubIT shipping and such to compare with the Egg.

$50 cheaper than the egg on the heatsink? Which one?

So far what I've bought the prices have been similar or in favor of the egg. I'm willing to pay the extra couple bucks though for the great service I know that newegg has.

I always order from newegg for "high volatile" items such as Cpu, motherboard, or ram since they have hands down, an excellent RMA service.

Other more stable items, I tend to try and buy elsewhere. Hopefully ClubIT pulls through for you since I've been looking at a few items they offer for a bit now.

i've bought from newegg and performance Pc's...
Performance-pcs.com does GREAT custom case's i've had multiple Lian-Li case's custom cut with top blowholes and they are done perfectly and look great (as if it came stock with the case)
but other than the custom case mods and sleeved wires on performance-pcs.com, their prices are a little expensive as compared to other such sites such as frozen-cpu.com, jab-tech.com, svc.com etc
newegg is rated #1 for a reason.. although their prices and shipping as been rising as compared to a few years ago...

i wouldn't hesitate buying from either...

I ordered the Titan Amanda TEC cooler from PerformancePCs for $99. The Vigor Monsoon2 TEC from Newegg is $150. The difference is the Amanda has 2 fans that run quietly. The Monsoon2 has 1 fan that cycles on and off and annoys people. So the models are not the same, but for $50 less, I get another fan and less annoyance.

As for Neweggs service, I love their service and have been a loyal customer for a long time. This time though, the $100 premium tilted my decision to ClubIT. They had great reviews, so I am gonna give them a try. So far though, I would expect some sort of correspondence telling me the order was processed or shipped or charged or something.

Perhaps I am just antsy! It has been a while since I did a full system upgrade vs just swapping a few components in.

Just got shipping confirmation and tracking number from UPS for the Performance PCs order. Looks like they took a full day processing the order before shipping the next afternoon. Newegg shipped the same day. Still waiting for shipping confirmation from ClubIT...

I ordered twice from Clubit, and both times were pleasant. First order -- a MSI 1950pro. Paid with paypal, and was processed next day. Received the card in roughly ~3 days. Second order - an Aopen 19" LCD monitor. I paid with paypal, but received an email that my shipping address was unconfirmed (they only ship to confirmed addresses). I emailed them, and they quickly realized that my shipping address was confirmed. Then later that day, I decided to cancel my order because I got a better deal. I emailed them, and the next day, I received a refund for the full amount. :)

I normally order from Newegg, but some of the stuff on Clubit I have been tempted due to price or due to them having it in stock and Newegg not. I normally order all my ram from Directron though. Directron is the only place I know that will, for an extra fee of course, test the ram before shipping, teh extra couple of bucks is worth it IMO for a part that so many end up with a bad stick and have to go threw the RMA process. The only issue with Directron is they don't aways have what your looking for though and there prices are a little higher then the rest, but if they have it, there shipping has been on par with Newegg.

I love Newegg's 1 year warranty. Their RMA service is quick and painless, and 1 year is quite a long time. Most other stores don't give you this convenience.

Welp, got my email from ClubIT that my order has shipped.

Looks like gear pricing, ClubIT wins. Shipping pricing, Newegg is way ahead with many "free shipping" items. Overall, ClubIT had $100 cheaper price on same items.

Newegg shipped my stuff the same afternoon I ordered it and I received it in ONE DAY!! PerformancePCs and ClubIT each took a day to process my order and it was shipped the next afternoon. My Newegg stuff arrived BEFORE my stuff shipped from ClubIT.

Hopefully I will not need to test the RMA department of ClubIT. I have used Newegg's before and always had wonderful luck!

As a follow up here, I have now received all of my equipment and have the weekend ahead of me to do the build. The package from Performance PCs got here yesterday (2 days) and the package from ClubIT got here yesterday as well, but the Fed Ex guy tried to deliver to my neighbors house instead of mine (not ClubIT fault), so today I flagged him down when I saw him.

All three orders were well packaged. The Newegg and Performance PCs stuff was packed in peanuts while the ClubIT stuff was wrapped in Bubble wrap. My only complaints are lack of updates about my order from each of them. I got the email stating my Newegg shipment was sent AFTER I received the shipment while the email from Performance PCs and ClubIT was the day after I ordered, which was in line with the actual shipment date. Bottom line, I basically saved $100 to wait a day for ClubIT to ship my goodies.

From this limited experience, I would recommend any of the three e-tailers to people in the market for new computer parts.

For certain items I go else where. For instance, for most fans and heat sinks I go with SVC.com or Heatsinkfactory.com.

I cant comment on any of them but Newegg - I placed two orders with them this week, both of which shipped the same day (both were placed between noon and two CST), both were shipped ground from their TN warehouse and both got here within two days of hitting "order".
