They go back and forth. I tend to go with Newegg for my computer parts because their search/filtering is better and I can 1 stop shop for everything I need.

This for me. If I used Newegg's excellent filtering tools to pick a product out of a sea of similar items, then I will buy from them to reward that investment. That's just me though, others may have different opinions.

After Amazon and Newegg (in that order) I also use: Provantage (very underrated), OutletPC, NCIX and a couple of smaller shops like FrozenCPU for fans and other little build parts that often can't be found elsewhere.

I second FrozenCPU for cooling gear. Their prices are sometimes high, but you really can't beat their selection and organization. Plus they will do all sorts of value-add services for you like sleeving that are great for people like me who are lazy.

Provantage is also great. They have a ridiculous assortment of business/enterprise gear and always ship quickly.

Newegg is the better choice especially if you end up having any issues with the product. Their ability to handle claims and process returns and exchanges is far superior to Amazon. Newegg seem to hire people who understand tech and it seems like amazon is more of a giant sales machine. Unless the price diffference is huge I always use Newegg now after having had multiple unresolvable issues with Amazon (and Ebay).

I don't order online enough to make a subscription service worthwhile. That and Amazon has charged me tax since inception. With Newegg I tend to get same or better pricing with free shipping, no tax and no subscription commitment. Even if I spend enough on Amazon to get free shipping it takes like two weeks. NE ships free in 3-4 days and with no minimum amount.

I happen to live perhaps a dozen miles from a Newegg shipping center. Sometimes I can order at 4pm and get the product the next morning. Downside to this: they now charge me sales tax.

Amazon, I don't have prime and the super saver shipping is SOOO slow.

For some things - storage, laptops, of course cameras, B&H has a competitive price, and I like them the best - no sales tax and shipping is pretty fast and awesome service. Plus I like to reward them for the awesome store in the city which I like to browse.

The overriding rule is - I will buy on price. Price being equal, I lean towards B&H and then Newegg.

I used to use Newegg for all my computer parts from 2001-2012. Their website was the most organized and easiest to find parts.

However, after 2012 I have ordered some parts from Amazon (probably 50/50 Newegg/Amazon.

I tried out Jet, but I was unimpressed with how their partner companies packaged the parts I ordered ($200 CPU in a plastic bag, no padding and a motherboard that was shipped in a flat rate box, no padding and arrived damaged with a hole in it).

The only issue I had with Newegg was reaching a person when a case I ordered last November was delivered to someone else. I tried the online chat, and it estimated an hour and half until it connected me to an agent. I then tried just to send them an email, but I received an auto-reply stating they were busy and might not respond to emails for 7-10 days and suggested I call or use online chat for quicker service. Long story short, it took me around 2:30 - 3:00 hours on hold until I got an agent on chat.

Amazon is good for me outside of sales tax and sometimes higher prices. I am a Prime member and many items I can have delivered same day if I order by noon. I do think out of all the companies, they have the best customer service.
