lol. this is pretty crappy. package went from edison nj to MD. i live in philly burbs area. wtf is this? normally w/ egg saver shipping if it shipped from edison it would take me a day to get anything via UPS.

i thought so too. apparently they still do?

its kind of annoying but at least im not in a rush to get my item. just funny that it would go to MD before it goes into PA. looks like it got handed off to USPS too. wtf?

All of my "Egg Saver" shipping has been DHL. Since DHL has no operations in my state at all, it is usually a 2 week wait if I forget to change it to (full price not saving me anything) UPS.

EDIT: AFAIK DHL is still in operations for some of it's clients, however, they do not do the delivery portion and is just the middleman for USPS.

i ordered an SD card from them a couple weeks ago.

same exact thing heh. i am in MD however.

but i didn't get any kind of update on the status of the item for like 3 days once it was 'tendered to usps'.

lol yeah, i ordered an 8GB thumb drive.

they coulda just skipped the DHL part and shipped it via USPS and it would be here by now. the warehouse is <100 miles away

Yep ... eggsaver shipping isn't that great.

I'm in MS and the warehouse in TN ships it to KY, then back to TN, then it gets delivered. Eggsaver usually takes 5-7 days where I am where UPS will be here next day if shipped from Memphis.

Gone are the days of 1 day shipping (which is what I used to get). I hate the new system but I'm sure it's better for NewEgg somehow.

Many times I've wonder why a company didn't just me stuff first class, cheaper and faster but I guess they have a secret deal with dhl.

Newegg has always used DHL/USPS combination shipping for their Eggsaver items (with the exception of the past when FedEx was their main shipper iirc). If you don't like that shipping company then pony up the money for UPS/FedEx.

Really? i'm in North Alabama and when I get something shipped from their Memphis warehouse its usually here next day and comes via UPS even with saver shipping

I thought DHL no longer shipped in the continental US?

i thought so too.

dhl is the worst parcel service EVAR!!

ditto on the first part.

i've never had problems with DHL.

My last company had a very short history with DHL. The finaly straw was when our box of paycheck stubs 'fell of the back of a truck' and wasn't delivered until 1 week later. Even then the box was ripped open in so many places about 30% of the paychecks were flat out missing!

DHL still operates in the US. They will stop in January. I ordered stuff from eggasver oe whatever their free service is called. I got DHL also. When I looked back, you have to manually pick UPS ground, which is also free. It took 7 days to get me my zune.

The worst free shipping is Amazon. They sat on the order for three days....then it took another 12 days for it to arrive....then I had to pick it up from the post office.

On a different note....i just put an order with UPS 2 day....It went from CA to East Boston MA, to somewhere in CT, then back to norwood, ma. Funny thing is, to get to CT from Boston, you usually pass Norwood, MA.

Maybe they just need to screen the drivers better. My last package "delivered" by them required a signature. Apparently my "front door" signed for the package that was delivered, even though I was home at the time and no one knocked. The package never arrived. Fortunately, the company sent another item, also requiring a signature. My "front door" signed for it again, but this time the package was actually left there.

I've had stupid hit happen with UPS....like something leaving SoCal to go to me (I'm in SoCal as well) and I watch it go eastward until it hits Mosourri, and THEN turn around.

Isn't just DHL baby

My guess is that DHL has hubs at one or more locations around the country and despite air travel, it may still be more efficient for them to move everything to the sorting hub before routing to the USPS facility.

One reason they might not use USPS directly is because they might not offer volume discounts like UPS and FedEx for large customers like Newegg.

Whereas FedEx, UPS, and USPS have all been good or bad depending on location and chance, DHL has been uniformly crappy for me.

Thanks for heads up. Didn't know NewEgg was still using DHL, though I usually select the faster options through UPS or FedEx, anyway.
