Newegg User product comments

Just thought I would post this in case others haven't noticed it. I see in the newegg.com user comments section for products they sell, that they no longer will post negative comments.

In my opinion this isn't good. They might as well not have a comment section now, as the comments now can't be trusted.

Here is what Newegg says on their web page:

"The customer opinion reviews are used at the discretion of Newegg.com as a marketing device for positive and constructive ways to share the benefit of the product. It is not used as a source for negative commentary as we cannot endorse the validity of any negative comment. Therefore, the Newegg.com site is moderated to remove any unproven biased negative comments"

I really like Circuit City's site.
They have really good + - info about their products through buyer reviews
and I really respect that. BB has no such thing on their site.

Sorry for the repost then, I don't usually read on this off topic message board.

As for that other thread, I don't agree with many of the replies in it. Personally I find it absurd some of those people think your stupid for believing peoples comments. If anything, thats is the best way to judge a product, as long as the user comments aren't censored. Its much more reliable than reading some review on a website that usually gives a biased review due to many reasons.

If newegg is worried about negative comments, then they should not have any comments in the first place, and need to remove their rating system. Both are now worthless, and intended to mislead people on purpose.

I know Amazon.com allows negative comments.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this statement, as a vast majority of Anandtech users are plain rude.
