Oh yeah, all of my packages have been left without a signature.

yes just because everything goes smooth for you everyone else must be whiny. There is an obvious problem that newegg needs to correct fast. This isn't initial complaining that happens right after a big change and people just haven't adjusted. The UPS switch happened awhile ago and people are STILL complaining. I no longer use newegg because of their shipping policies with UPS. Its almost like they intentially jack up the price on fedex to get people to use UPS.

God forbid anyone criticize Fedex.
Do you work for UPS or what?

Every other shipping company I've used (DHL, Yellow & a few others) have never managed to damage items like UPS. Sure, some of the boxes I've got from Fedex were a little dinged up and what not, but at least the contents inside made it fine. Most of my UPS boxes look like someone there purposely tried to damage them.

I think a fair majority of us have been burned by UPS which is why we hate it so much. How many Fedex items have you gotten that have been damaged? 0 for me.

Im at 7 Ups claims, 0 fedex, and ive been shipping fedex exclusively whenever i have an option to, even it costs more, for years now.

Yep, I'm guessing they've damaged 50% of my items, and 100% from them have had boxes that looked like they shipped around the world a few times.
Plus I've been inside and heard them throw items onto my porch from several feet away. And they alway leave things on the front corner of the porch where they'll get nice and wet instead of the back opposite corner where it'd be covered. Or else on the steps in plain view from everyone to steal. Idiots.

BTW, another thread.

I am about to add another not so good eval. My second and third order in less than 3 weeks, all delayed and behind schedule because of fvcking UPS:|

None really,I've always had a great experience with them. One huge part of that great experience though has been FedEx and their 3 day shipping.

I don't get this,it wasn't broke so why did Newegg need to fix it?? FedEx might have raised prices because of fuel prices but so would UPS. Just to be clear, they still offer FedEx,but at very high delivery pricing.

Yup and here's an example. ONE stick of Crucial memory delivered to the midwest, three day delivery:

UPS---$4.81
FedEx-$8.04

Hmmm,wonder why people are griping?

I used to be able to order first thing in the morning, and my stuff would ship that day. Now, it takes a day for it to ship, and the package usually shows up a day after it was supposed to. UPS sucks. I would rather pay a little more for good shipping. Its worth every dime to me.

Have'nt heard anyone mention this yet but could it be that Newegg and UPS have some sorta deal where they agree on a certain price once they ship out x amt. of packages per week or per month, etc.?

I always thought that's how they did it with FedEx before to offer such good shipping rates, but there is absolutely no reason that I could think of that would make them switch from FedEx to UPS. Seems like the majority of us have had bad experiences with UPS, I hope they fix this pretty soon before their customer base begins to dwindle.

Oh and aside from the shipping issues with UPS, I've had no problems at all with Newegg otherwise.

About twenty years ago UPS doorknobed (UPS term for leaving a package without a sig) a $300.00 Pioneer car stereo by my front door. No problem EXCEPT...this was late on a friday afternoon and we had gone out of town for the entire weekend on Fri at noon.

Got back late on Sunday,it had rained all weekend and there sat the box--soaking wet. The outside box was about back to pulp, the inside packing was wet and even the inside box was damp. I was screaming pissed off at those assclowns.

Called their main 800 number on Monday--they NEVER want you to talk to the local center. Gave them all the details and they said they'd get back. Get this...they called back and CLAIMED I signed for the package. I told them that was BS,I was out of town all weekend and that the package came after we left. They continued on so I demanded to see the log sheet with my sig--this is way back before the electronic keypad they have today.

They mailed my a copy of the delivery sheet and yep, there was my signature for the package. Of course it was FORGED and even had a cute balloon over one of the "i"'s in my name instead of a dot--gee,wonder if a WOMAN signed my name?!?!

So...I went down to the local center and demanded to see the manager--oh of course he was out,in meetings..all the usual BS. I told them I'd be back tomorrow at 8:00 am,if he couldn't talk to me then maybe someone from our local paper could about how UPS forges signatures. Needless to say he was there, showed him my REAL signature and the one on the sheet. Long story short I got my stereo replaced at their cost, never liked those bastards since.

yeah they had excellent scores but anything above 9 is good. resellerratings don't mean much... check out OD, OM, CC, BB, and my favorite place to buy stuff: staples.

Reseller Ratings means a hell of alot to me. I buy thousands a year and always check over their first. A few random negitive complaints about a company doesn't mean disaster--all companys have things go wrong. Its when you read complaint after complaint, most all say the same thing and a pattern starts to form about how a company does business and treats its customers.

I've used them as a guide and have yet to get burnt. I'd like to buy local also to build a system but you can't afford places like Staples,CompUSA,BB etc... Not if you want to make any money.

I guess I've never really had much trouble with Fedex or UPS. I've never had to make a claim for either. Frankly, I like the UPS shipping because its cheaper a lot of times. Newegg had pretty much no free shipping on stuff anymore starting awhile ago. When they charge me a flat fee of $5 to ship a $3 fan I get annoyed.

yeah it's sometimes useful for smaller online stores... but when i bought my case from EMS COMPUTING, which had a 7.xx score... i sent them a check (i was a kid back then and didn't have CC), and guess what, rumors of them folding spreads across the HD forum. i was lucky enough to get my case for $59 shipped.

Fedex driveway moded my case a little over a year ago when I built my computer. Back then though, newegg was better on fixing things like that. I ended up getting to keep the broken one because there was no way they were going to pay to have it shipped back to them.

i thought i read that someone here posted that Newegg was rethinking their deal with UPS because SOOO many peoplke were haveing issues with them

UPS sucks worse then even DHL they are the absolute worst of any carrier of mail/packages

I hate fedex because they never drop off a package without a signature. After a few days of not finding me at home during the daytime (gee I wonder where somebody could be during the day on every weekday), they usually leave a signature form. This always adds a few days to my shipping.

I preferred FedEx b/c almost all of my newegg orders arrived 1 day ahead of the scheduled delivery time. They also almost always delivered around noon. UPS on the other hand, delivers on the scheduled day (sometimes 1 day later, not very often though). They may deliver anytime between 10AM-4PM. Also, FedEx drivers also usually wait for me to answer the door and hand me the package and say something like "have a nice day". UPS sets the package on the ground by my door, hits the door hard 3-4 times and runs back to the truck.

I can't complain that UPS is delivering on the scheduled day! However, given a choice, I'll take FedEx and the 95% chance that I'll get it a day early and know right about what time it will come. Of course, YMMV (big time on this one)

I switched over to ZipZoom Fly from newegg when newegg switched to UPS. ZZF offers me the same price (if not lower) on most of the items AND they give me fedex 2 day for free most of the time🙂

Not one of these nitwits has mentioned the stacking of shipping prices. THAT'S MY BEEF with the wondrous NewEgg. I don't give a rat's ass who they use to ship my stuff, but it's total BS that there is almost no break in shipping costs for bundling several items at once.

BTW, FedEx tracking SUCKS compared to UPS.

Yeah I agree,I think the worst at Newegg is on system memory which weighs nothing and is small in size. Buy one stick-$4.81 shipping, throw another in the same box which adds a few OUNCES in weight--another $4.81,then another if you want to fill all three slots.

$14.43 to ship three sticks of memory?!?!? Needless to say my memory purchases sure don't happen over at Newegg.

No it's not just the popular thing to do. I don't exaggerate or make up my experiences with UPS and I doubt others are either.
Just for the hell of it, awhile back I started taking pics of all the damaged items I've received from UPS, and have a folder just for them. Getting a big collection and would be really large if I'd done that all along.

Especially for me, since Newegg started charging tax a few years ago. Haven't ordered anything since.
