I saw this deal on Ben's Bargains yesterday and bought 2.

I bought a 4 GB Super Talent two years ago (it was about $14...) - it has great transfer speed, has a very thin profile, and still works great. I hope the 8 GB model works just was well as the old 4 GB does...

Spend a little more for the OCZ Rally's. Those are the absolute speed kings. AT did a thing on flash drives a while ago; then I decided OCZ Rally's were the best (it was hands down) so at only $8 more it's a great deal.

Indeed. I still have my 4GB Rally 2 (Cost me near $65 back then).

It comes apart now as some plastic pieces broke and now as of 2 days ago the LED no longer works.. Probably starting to go out on me but it holds data for now and that's all that matters.

With an aluminum shell however its sturdy, and I've absolutely loved it and will probably by a 32GB model soon.

I googled for the OCZ Rally 2 and found some reviews talking about data corruption.

Is this a common problem, or rare, isolated problem that a few individuals may have posted on multiple websites?

Also OC has a $10 and $12 mail (different models) in rebate on thier 8GB at new egg, but they are charging shipping on those.

Is Super Talent a reliable brand (in terms of lack of data corruption), in particular the 8 GM drive that the OP listed?

Mine came today and it has a red LED ( the lanyard through-hole) that stays lit when drive is inserted and flashes when writing.I never noticed that in the item description so it was a nice surprise.Oh, it's fast too.

Thank you tealk for the heads up on this flash drive

I'm running 4x1GB of ST DDR2-667 in my rig right now, no errors and good OCers.

I also have a ST 4GB USB flash drive and an older 1GB ST swivel-type flash drive. ST has been good for me, though I don't trust flash devices for important data - that gets written in encrypted form to external hdds :)

Hey Just a little TIP, if you tried to order one at the 18.99 price and your order got canceled. Newegg should have sent you an email stating that

"If the item you were trying to order comes back in stock at a higher price, feel free to contact customer service and they will help you attain the price from your original order. Please have your confirmation emails from your original order handy."

So you should be able to get them to give you the lower price.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Didn't see it on time to order at 18.99, and when I tried for the 20.99 it was OOS. Back in stock this A.M., though, so ordered one.
