I bought this Creative video player for about 250. received it and it bombed - out of the box it went into recovery mode and showed "Harddrive Problem" while trying out the available options on the recovery screen. Not replaced with the exact same issue - not fixed either. So I called them again and could not believe what I heard - I was told that since it was already more than 30 days they cant do anything, and above all that said that they had been sending me a replacement not the same one... well, on the 1st day itself I was told that they didn?t have any more of the same model so how were they sending me replacement??? And why were the replacements having the exact same issue??? SN was also same
It?s been a week now and I have been talking about it with lot of people and I have already come across 3 people who had similar issues and were equally pissed off. One of them even files a complaint with BBB. I am planning to do the same myself....
So now I have no other choice but to call the manufacturer and get it services from them. Newegg, for which I have heard so much praise everywhere, turns out to be a bunch of crooks.
Before this I once bought HDD and was offered a free glossy sticker. When the HDD failed after a week - guess what!! It was not eligible for replacement as they glossy stupid sticker was not replaceable and it was a package deal - classic example or crooks.
Once after that the case cooler's regulator was not working so sent for RMA I got back the exact same piece not a replacement - I didn?t bother to follow-up coz it was a $7 thing...
I have even heard from people that they manipulate their reviews - now I have no doubt that they do.
