Newegg sucks - Be careful of the crooks

This is what I'm referring to. We have 40,000 "X company's customer service suX0rs!!!!!oneoneone" threads a day here in ATOT, Newegg's the first one I've seen that actually replied to a post to attempt to fix it.

Even the BEST companies are going to mess up once in a great while. An isolated incident like this isn't going to make me dislike the Egg, even though it really, really sucked for the OP.

So now I have no other choice but to call the manufacturer and get it services from them. Newegg, for which I have heard so much praise everywhere, turns out to be a bunch of crooks.

Before this I once bought HDD and was offered a free glossy sticker. When the HDD failed after a week - guess what!! It was not eligible for replacement as they glossy stupid sticker was not replaceable and it was a package deal - classic example or crooks.

Once after that the case cooler's regulator was not working so sent for RMA I got back the exact same piece not a replacement - I didn?t bother to follow-up coz it was a $7 thing...

I have even heard from people that they manipulate their reviews - now I have no doubt that they do.

I wish NeweggSupport guy could bitch slap you through your screen, but I guess his minor swipe will have to do. Everyone gets caught up in a order glitch every once in a while, especially given Newegg's order volume. Ranting on here like you did, when most people have an overwhelmingly good opinion of NewEgg, formed by many good experiences, makes you look like an ass.

Actually you just made yourself look like one. The OP had a legitimate complaint and if I were him, I'd be complaining too. I am impressed that there is a rep from newegg on this board that is willing to help get this all resolved though, it brings their credibility back up a little. Personally, I have very high regards for newegg, fast shipping, good product, can't complain yet. Good luck to the OP for getting this all taken care of.

i have had a few problems with newegg. Each time they went above and beyond any other place has done to fix it.

wich is why i keep going back.

thinking of getting another 2 gig of mem for my machine and installing vista. wich i will order from Egg

Wasnt the source of his complaint that I am talking about, it is the way it was communicated in this thread. That is quite a leap to go from a fairly serious order glitch, to calling newegg a bunch of crooks. He also throws in an unsubstantiated claim that they manipulate reviews.

Holy crap, are you serious? You just got smacked down by everyone in this thread and now you're piling it on yourself.

Sure, the OP went a little overboard, but he got screwed pretty badly by the egg up until now. Lots of people would exaggerate a little.

Secondly, it's beyond common knowledge that Newegg manipulates reviews. Try posting a review that says anything negative about Newegg and see how long it stays up. Try mentioning a specific brand name or price and check out the asteriks they replace it with. Newegg messes with their reviews all kinds of ways, if you seriously don't know this, you're hopeless.

Well, they do take out prices in people's reviews... so I guess you can count that as changing, but manipulating has a negative connotation to it :p.

That's merely a technical example of how they change reviews. More importantly, say ANYTHING bad about Newegg in your review, and it'll be gone. This isn't exactly breaking news. And that IS manipulative.

Thanks guy for all the support. I feel much better now. I have already shipped my product to Creative for repair. I was very pissed when I posted this thread, after all I bought the product more than a month ago and if everything goes will I will be able to use this $250 thing for the 1st time after 10 days. This product was available at a lower price on other websites but I went for newegg coz of their customer service reputation and I got burnt right there so it hurt more. I still like newegg and probably would still buy stuff from them. It?s still far better that lot of websites out there. I guess this is the only website where you can call CS and talk to an actual person who understands English. Buy I will be more careful and but such gadgets at Physical stores gather than trying to get a bargain online.

I appetite the PM from CS guy I have already called him once and left him a message. I will talk to him tomorrow.

I will definitely keep this thread updated with whatever happens next...

Then again on the part with leaving reviews......... I know that NewEgg removes alot of reviews. Even if you half mention something bad, it will not get posted in the review section.

Then again on the part with leaving reviews......... I know that NewEgg removes alot of reviews. Even if you half mention something bad, it will not get posted in the review section.

In that case you need to read more of them. They are not good and they are there. I even recently gave a keyboard a bad review and the guy after me did the same and mentioned me.

did you expect anything else? historically, people post their newegg bitch threads in ATOT because they know newegg reads it.

I have not a clue on how to read. As I'm typing, I don't know what I'm posting, so you have no recourse mind you ;)

I'm talking about anything half bad about NewEgg, not the actual product. As long as the review is not against them, they will post it.

Newegg, like any other company will remove negative reviews of the company itself simply because the review section is for the products being purchased and not the seller. They will also not allow the posting of prices from competitors because it is their web site and they are in the business to make money. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this type of editing or deleting reviews.

Other reasons to edit or delete post would include not being applicable to the actual product shown, using foul language, misleading post, promoting the competition and a belligerent tone.

I have a ton of Newegg purchases and a few RMA's...never a problem with them.

I am a picky consumer as well, if I am ordering something I expect the box to be mint when I get it.
