Newegg shipping...wow.

Yeah, they have weird, seemingly random shipping costs.

They balance it out by having some low or free shipping on other items. But their shipping prices make little sense to me.

i guess it costs them more money to ship a cable then it does a hard drive. they have a 60-day return holiday policy now, but i think that still includes there 15% restocking fee.

I just bought a motherboard, processor, hard drive, and memory from them. Shipping = $0.00. Most of their shipping is uber-cheap; your picking out of this one item reveals what is probably a deeply rooted hatred of success.

$3 shipping for a large 40lb+ floorstanding speaker? No complaints from me!

Although, Amazon shipped me a 100lb tv stand next day for $3.99... Prime ftw 😀.

when the fuck did newegg start looking like a blog? it looks like the new, impossible-to-use, insideline

Newegg's alright, but you can't just load up the cart and check out. As shown above, the shipping can be ridiculous. If you can buy everything you need over the course of a month, you can hit the specials as they occur, and do pretty well.

Ever since they switched to UPS the shipping has been an exercise in futility.

Stuff like thumb drives and SATA cable should just go in an envelope with a stamp on it.

I ordered 3 items recently. All of them had free UPS 3-day shipping. I got the package 6 business days later.

Kinda random.
50" black friday plasma from frys 120 dollars shipping.
47" lcd from newegg yesterday.. 69 dollars..

It was. It's called "Newegg Goes Mainstream".

I think that's precisely what I dislike.

The shift to including a variety of products might be great for consumers looking to pick up random kitchen appliances, but - call me a crazy computer enthusiast - I liked it better when their focus was solely on computer parts. I know they want to diversify and become like Amazon, but I don't think they can do so without losing a lot of their original and core customer base.

i like when i buy a usb thumb drive and it comes in a box that could fit a full sized atx case.

thinkgeek is bad about this as well (along with bad shipping prices)

i generally shop at amazon first (yay, prime!) and if i cant find what I want i might hit newegg or something.
