NewEgg Shipping is Outragous

I just when to place a $300+ order, maybe 10 lbs in weight tops..

The shipping cost was $48 ???????

I thiught must be a bad error some place, so I enter items again..

I added four 80mm case fans to a three other items and they fans raised the shipping cost $8.00

I didn't even stick around to see what the ten 15' Network cable would do..



You might as well buy your items one at a time becase NewEgg figuers any saving in shipping items together is there win fall......

I have been a customer since around 2000 and this would have been my first big order, have they always had this outragous policy????

I feel like someone just tried to robb me....
They offer free shipping on many items so I am having a hard time understanding this policy..

Where else is a fair place to shop??????

 
For small stuff like fans, unless it's free shipping, don't buy from Newegg.

svc.com, jab-tech.com, sidewindercomputers.com are much better for fans and shipping.
 
How about Cat 6 Network Cables???

Where can I find some at good prices???

I would rather pay $2.00 more each item then feel like I am being robbed on shipping..

They want $20 extra shipping on seven 15' Cat6 cables..

I've ordered from them many times. Last big order was well over $400 and over 30 LBS (Case with PSU, mobo, ram, cpu and 22" WS LCD). Shipping price wasn't jack.
 
This is Newegg's way of compensating for their low prices and free shipping offers. They charge shipping per-item, so something that costs them 20-30 dollars to ship, they ask for 60+ for an entire computer's worth of stuff. I've always wondered why people didn't realize how Newegg does their shipping.
 
I have made major orders from NE many times (though not recently - I haven't done a major PC system rebuild since 2004). I don't care for their current regime of charging shipping per item. Though I know NE is still fairly priced when you factor in shipping, it feels abusive. Part of the charm of Amazon is the free shipping, and it motivates me to purchase at least $25 in merchandise at least once a month.
 
Win Fall = great profit.

IE:I pay $20 extra to ship seven 15' cat6 cables with an order in the works, and It only costs them $5 to extra in ship costs items and they pocket $15

I did buy the new MoBo, DVD burner, 100 dvds, floppy drive, keyboard and fan controller and shipping was $18??????

Add five 80mm fans and several cat6 cables and shipping $48

Thats Just Crazy
Those items where maybe 5%-10% of cost and almost tripped shipping cost...

I have to be fair,
The DVD Burner and DVDs had free shipping...
Even still $30 extra to ship a couple fand and wires???

They also had great prices and shipping would have been $10 standard or $20 ups like NE but this was shipping on cables alone not add to an order in the works..


Maybe NE doesn't want to kill all the small cooling stores and be the WalMart of computer stores 🙂

 
I never order small things like that off Newegg, but really, I've never had a problem with their shipping. Usually it's pretty reasonable in price and never takes more than two days to reach me.
 
I put an item in the cart and the shipping was $6. I added a HD that had free shipping and the shipping went up to $11. This was a situation I didn't much care for.

I had to place two separate orders to get the free shipping on the HD. If that's the game, I can play.

SVC charges too much for Antec 120mm tricool fans. $15 a piece. >_>

Sidewindercomputers.com doesn't even have Antec products.

Jab-tech.com doesn't have them either.

Fail websites. Newegg is good for a lot of things, like Antec 120mm tricool fans. These other sites are good at some things, but not a lot.

Wish I had the stupid balls to buy them for $5 a piece when frys was doing it. I should have bought 50.
 
Newegg has always been like that, so while I do recommend Newegg, I always shop around first. That said, the last big shipping item I bought was an Antec Sonata III for $45 w/ free shipping. No complaints here.

I use http://www.cyberguys.com for cables at work all the time...... great company.
 
For cables, check out trianglecables.com or pchcables.com. Both have done me well in the past, with reasonable shipping.

For cooling and other items, check coolerguys.com, xoxide.com, svc.com, directron.com, ewiz.com, dealsonic.com, bestbyteinc.com, mwave.com, techsunny.com, xpcgear.com, crazypc.com, or even microcenter.com. I've got every one of those bookmarked, and will check the shipped price at every one of them to find the best deal. 🙂
