Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH120G2K5 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Note: I bought one of these on Black Friday. Great deal, but I didn't get around to doing the rebate and a few days after the sale, the rebate link was gone. I contacted Newegg and they said there was no rebate. I ended up digging out their original sale e-mail and they finally reimbursed me. So make sure you get the rebate information right away!

I've got an 80GB G2 now, and this is quite tempting, but, with their SATA III drives right around the corner, I can't justify it.

Awesome deal though.

Review of SATA III Crucial RealSSD C300 states its the fasted card out if used with SataIII.
When C300 is used with a ICH10R or SataII it becomes the slowest card out.

Since I dont have sataIII guess I go with intel ssd.

I went on ahead and picked up one. It's for my laptop which is only 3gbps and it looks like it was over $100 less than the 510 version not including the rebate.

I wish they had this a few weeks ago instead of the Vertex 2. My vertex 2 is back at OCZ for RMA. What a pain.

I want to get this for my desktop but no money atm..

Hey guys I got one of these around xmas and rebate never even showed up at web site. Read the reviews search for rebate, plenty got stiffed.

I hate rebates as is because I'm such an idiot and screw them up 50% of the time- I don't need company helping me fail too.

Yea I hate rebate system; but the shell shocker price ($20 off) was still the best price I've seen in the 3 months I've been watching prices (there were better prices around christmas). Going forward one should expect prices to drop but it is not clear if it will take 2 months; 6 months or 12+ months for significant drops to occur as current demand is still fairly high.

On the rebate do you send just the UPC which is in the middle of the label with S/N or the entire white label (god i hate these rebate houses - they look for any excuse to deny the rebate).

Hum. I filled it out with just the UPC per example; will see what happens. Probably should have done what you are going to do; but not sure.

yeah, but intel ssd's are literally 5x more reliable. I'll take a reasonably fast ssd that is very reliable to a very slightly faster ssd that breaks more often than a 1972 datsun.

ssd pricing has been quite "meh" lately imho. I bought my g2 80gb on bf 2009 for $225 AR, so it was $2.81 per gb, and this deal is $1.50 per gb so...uh, nevermind, I was hoping for the $$/gb to be cut in half, we missed it by 9 cents...
