I ordered an open box gigabyte ud3r to go with a e5200 woofdale(heh)
I open the fricking box and it has a paper/letter from GIGABYTE to ABS computer systems inc
saying the RMA is denied because the pcb is broken
ahhh!! wtf! pos ABS wtf newegg are you kidding is this a joke. they say tested but open...

I ordered the ud3r because it was $82.50 (in my price range)
and i don't need all the accessories (not in box btw)
and wanted to overclock (in about six months maybe don't need to now)
and was listed compatible with my cheap corsair xms2 cm2x 6400c4 memory
it gets hot here in TX so a little cooler ALOT better
popular chipset P45 - lots of support on the net

now i'm not sure if i should order the retail version 120 -15rebate + shipping $8
or just go with something else

been researching for like a few months waiting for deals and all that for a few months getting impatient....

any recommendations for a motherboard with just as good overclocking + cool and all that

thanks everybody

I would be on the phone to Newegg asking for an RMA, replacement with a retail motherboard (it's worth the extra cost, believe me), and for them to pick up the return shipping too. I know you are taking a chance on open box items but a broken PCB is ridiculous.

Newegg's open-box stuff has really gone downhill the last year or so. I've gone from eagerly looking for those deals to avoiding them.

Same here.

I got my DFI P35 open box awhile ago and its great, still running same as the day I got it.

A friend of mine ordered an open box MSI P45 board a week ago and it booted once before deciding it didn't want to work anymore.

I've had great luck with Newegg open box, but I haven't made an order recently. Sad to hear they are letting things slide.
