Hey All,
I'm trying to put together a new system and was hoping for some feedback on my selections from NEWEGG. I want a fast, solid system but not really into overclocking. I also want to make the most of Vista but don't want to wait for the hybrid hdd's. I already have a Raptor 150GB.
These prices may not be the best but I'm more concerned about getting the good hardware. Please post any comments or concerns you may have (something better for the price?). I also need to pick out the RAM still (8500 or 6400?). Any suggestions? If this is the wrong forum, please let me know. Thanks alot! Loyal AT fan here.

Check hotdeals, the p180/182 has been available recently for $100, the zalman is way overpriced (its a good hsf but not as good as others that are cheaper), you are probably better of with the corsair 520 for a little more then the antec (the neo is not one of their best psu's and antec isn't as good as they used to be). Also you can get an 8800gts 640 for $20 more then the 320 http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130071.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. Except you might want to wait on the 8800 640MB as its the beginning of the month and eVGA should post a rebate making it cheaper than the overclocked 320MB version.

Look into the Freezer 7 HS/F. Very effective for the money.

I agree on the Corsair, much nicer unit for just a lil more or perhaps even cheaper through buy.com(they have been running good deals)

That motherboard is massively overpriced if you don't need built in wifi.

I have heard most people saying that the ultimate version of vista is also a fairly big ripoff. The next version down will suffice for most people.

As for RAM, go to the hot deals section and get something thats a great deal at the time. There are so many good deals out there its hard to keep up with them. 6400 should be fine for most people. Get good quality 6400 and it will overclock(well not technically overclock the ram...but let you overclock the CPU) rather nicely.
