I got an X1950PRO from Newegg this past April and last week it died. I RMA'd the card but I don't have a printer or access to one so I couldn't print out the barcode they send you to put on the box. As an alternative, I just (clearly) wrote Newegg's address, my RMA number and customer number on a piece of printer paper and taped that to the box.

Their site says that without that barcode it'll take 3-5 days longer than normal to process the RMA. Is this true? Anyone else returned something to them without the RMA barcode on the box and had to wait an extra long time to get your replacment part shipped? My card got there today at 9 AM and it's almost 8 PM now and there's still no update on the RMA page. It's still at Step 1. I returned an acrylic case to them a year or two ago because it was cracked and that time I did put the RMA barcode on the box. If I remember right, my RMA was approved and sent out the same day they got it. I guess that isn't the "case" this time.

I know I just have ants in my pants and need to chill out, but my card took a dump the same day my Q6600 got here. And now although I have a kick ass processor I don't have a decent vid card to go with it so Im a little impatient.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Finally at step 3 in the process.... I live in VA so what's the chances my replacment will ship from TN or NJ? Anyone know? Or do all replacment parts get shipped from California?

Aside from the gangs, smog, crime, and earthquakes, people in and around L.A. are lucky for being so close to Newegg. :D

Except most Cali peeps probably won't order from Newegg because of the sales tax unless it's cheaper to do so with the tax in. :D

Bah, I don't sweat the pittance that gets added as sales tax. To me, the great service I get from teh Egg is worth that...plus living in NorCal, everything I order gets to me in 2-3 business days.
The prices at most of the other on-line places is usually pretty clost to that of NewEgg, with the obvious exception of close-outs or sales, and for me, it's more of a PITA to chase down the lowest price and sacrifice NewEgg's great service.

LEGALLY, you're required to file and pay sales taxes on anything bought out of state anyway...but I realize no one actually does. IIRC, the Board of Equalization is working on fixing that...

One time (and this is the complete truth) I RMA'd an FX-55 that I bubbled wrapped and sent to them. Just the proc - in bubble wrap. It was my first purchase from Newegg and it keeps me going back every time - regardless of sales tax.

The RMA toko over two weeks so I wrote them a harshly worded email asking about the length of the process. They wrote me back and in so many words said "you're a dumbass for sending us this but we're helping you anyhow. We found a spare FX-55 box and sent it to AMD" I wrote them back apologizing profusely for my douchebaggery :(

I got a monitor online from Staples a month or two ago and had to pay tax on it. I still got a good deal though.
