Newegg refurbed video cards

By the way, does anyone know if the Sapphire black PCB 9500's can be modded to 9500 Pro's? (Not 9700)

I dont think they can...

Also, if you are interested in doing that mod, newegg refurbs is NOT the place to be getting the card you want to do this with. There is a very good chance that the last person tried to do it and when it didnt work, they returned the card...

Well, I was thinking I would be OK with a 9500 Pro for $120. I figure a lot of people return black cards because they want red L ones to go 9700, but if I could get the black one to 9500 Pro I would be happy.

I dunno. I'll probably cancel it.

Newegg has refurb Chaintech ti4400 and 4600 for $142.50 and $148.50 respectively!

I'm sure they'll go fast.

I just hope they're OK. Anyone know Newegg's policies for DOA refurbed? And I wonder if manuf warranty applies...

I'm not sure about their RMA policy for refurbed items. I recently bought a GF4 Ti4200 refurb from them, and I remember there being a big disclaimer when I placed the order about how NewEgg was not responsible for any problems I might have and I should take it up with the manufacturer. It's probably worth checking on as I did not read the disclaimer that closely.

No problems with my GF4, by the way. I actually got a 128 MB card instead of 64 MB like it said on the box. I'm very happy with it.

Newegg will take refurbs back within 15 days of purchase. I have returned a few refurb parts without a problem.

The black sapphire 9500np can be modded to 9500 pro's. I did it to mine that I got when I ordered a red one. Don't know if I'll keep it yet but it does up the scores a good bit on the benchies.

They will refund your return shipping as well from what I am told, if you politely ask them to.

AIW 9700 showed back up in stock earlier and I was able to pick one up for $285, looks OOS now but it pays to check back from time to time.
