newegg refurb suckage

at this point i declare newegg refurb to be a useless pile of ass.
it used to be worthwhile to buy things there since you'd get a great deal.

now apparently 2 chimpanzees picking ticks off each others backs are newegg's refurb department. either that or deceitful scoundrels.

so i saw a sapphire radeon 9600 pro on there. perhaps im just in a bad mood...

so the picture shows a bga ram equipped 9600 pro, just like a normal 9600 pro. it ended up costing me $100 shipped which wasnt even that cheap but hey i needed it fast.

so they send me a sapphire 9600 pro, but it some sort of weird version that has TSOP chips and only 500mhz ram. yet they decieved me by putting a 9600 pro BGA ram one there as a picture and they also did not mention the slow ram.

now i have to send this thing back in , but i am going to write a scatching email and hopefully they fire their 2 chimpanzees.

I find that pictures next to reburb products are usually just shown as an example and NOT what you might be getting. You have to read the description very clear and call or email newegg with questions.

i did read the description. it said 400 core, 600 memory.

i think i am pretty close to never shopping at newegg ever again. i think as they got big they fell apart. their prices arent even good anymore, their refurbs are becoming terrible and their ship times are not even as fast as they used to be.

mwave , ewiz and zipzoomfly thus far have been jsut as good and lately cheaper.

It's a refurb.
If the description and core/memory specs don't match, complain.
Otherwise...dude, it's a refurb. You bought it for too much money anyway, they didn't garuntee anything but that it would work. Oh well. Why $%#* spend 80% of the price of a new card just to get a returned one, anyway?
