It's UPS policy to get a signature at a place of business, I did not know of anything for a home delivery. Of course, not unless Newegg requests one for home delivery). Maybe UPS changed their policy for growing insurance claims which is possible. Like if newegg insured an item for over 200 dollars, it could flag the shipment for a direct signature required.
I ship mostly Fed Ex, so I'm not sure.
According to Newegg, they put no such requirements on their deliveries. Where they leave it, signatures, etc., are all left up to the carrier. This from the second woman who was very helpful.
I'm really starting to think that UPS leaves it up to the driver to make these decisions. He's a cocky little bastard and new on the route. This probably explains the change in "policy".
That's why I was wondering how he was going to handle the fifth package. I would not be surprised to come home to 4 packages on the porch and a notice of signature required in person for the fifth! I'm laughing now, but won't be tomorrow!
I can't switch delivery to the wife's office midstream because they're not served by the same warehouse.
