Does the newegg radeon 8500 have 3.6 or 4 ns ram? Also, does the speed of the ram matter if I an NOT going to overclock the card?

The Radeon 8500 has 3.6ns memory chips. If u are not interested in O/C,I don't think that it does matter.Keep in mind though that Radeon 8500 retail is timed at 275Mhz memory speed which means 550Mhz real speed. So 1/3.6*2*1000=555.55Mhz theoritical maximum memory speed.

I have an OEM or an LE whatever you want to call it. It comes with 3.6 sec chips BUT you probably wont get 275 out of them. MANY people around the net are getting about 270-265 out of the memory which is OK. You can do a retail bois flash but that only seems to help the core speed. This information is what I know to be the truth.

If your not overclocking don't worry about what the RAM is rated at as it won't make any difference to you. Irregardless of whether it is 3.6ns or 4ns it's going to be clocked at the same speed by defaullt, so the overclockability of the RAM is non-issue if you intend to run it at it's stock rated clockspeed.
