I'm pissed mostly because of being lied to. Paypal never ended the promotion, Newegg did. They sit there and blame Paypal so it does not look so bad. You can push to get a credit on your order if need be. It still is upsetting how bad customer service for them has become.
 
This was just flatout a poorly implemented promo. Like some of you, I thought that the promotion would end on the 28th, and that I had plenty of time to decide. From reading the thread on EggXpert, it seems like this promo had a limited amount of funds set aside for it, and they end the promo prematurely because those funds were quickly depleted.

A better way to have run this would have been to show a big counter on the NewEgg main page, that displayed and counted down the promo funds that NewEgg had remaining.
 
OMG the Eggspurt forums,what a freakin joke,bun hugging little eliteists with badges.truly a disgusting display of "I is impohhhtent,kiss my a**"
little mediocre sales with promo codes in their newsletter's
newegg's going down the tubes.when they start screwing their longtime customer's ,I for one am avoiding them like the plague for now till they regain their sanity(if ever)

I made my newegg ,using paypal order, yesterday at about 7 AM PST. I did not receive an email about the paypal credit. Did anyone else receive emails about their credit?

They refused to give me a $50 credit, they would only give me a $25 credit. I am a little upset at the how Newegg handled this promotion. They ended it early without even notifying customers.

I talked to a CSR who said she would give me a $25 credit for the 1TB hard drive, but once I ordered it and sent her my order number, she said she couldn't give me the credit because I used the $30 off promo code to Newegg Subscribers. I was just sick of the Newegg / Paypal BS yesterday so I canceled my order. I'll save my $240 for some other place.

I tried to get the CSR to give a credit toward a mobo I paid for using Paypal and was told no. I really did not believe I deserved it and the Egg has always been good to me. So this would be a YMMV.

After this confusion and an issue I had with an RMA of a dead mobo; I think I'm going to try someone other than Newegg now. Problem with that is, Newegg has some crazy market power on quality customer service and prices. If anyone knows of any websites with an equal amount of both that'd be spiffy. Can't think of any off the top of my head though, it's like Walmart for hardware.

Newegg, always "EPIC!!!!!" deals.

As crappy as Neweggs prices have been recently it's still a hard habit to shake.

Mine went through after 3:00 pm and they said it should be good but as of today I still show nothing about the rebate. Should paypal be sending me a notice of this?

I was in on this early in the day, well within the time the banner was up, and I never got any notification of a rebate from paypal. I asked this earlier in the thread, and someone said last year when they had this promotion, that they never got any notification either, but the money just sort of appeared in their paypal account about 6 weeks later.

This has been a very poorly executed promotion, to say the least, and I guess all we can do is hope that we get our money, since both Newegg and Paypal are giving conflicting answers about what's going on.



 
Is there an official way to know if got in on this promotion?

I placed my order 8:30am PST on 11/26. My order actually shipped out at 12:30pm PST. Paid by Paypal. I've received no notification nor anything on my emails or invoices that indicate the 20% rebate.
