Newegg Premier

Doesn't replace Shoprunner for me, it does all those things already. I have been using the service completely free for three years running.

Newegg Premier's only truly nice feature would be elimination of the restocking fee. Though complain enough and Newegg usually reverses it.
 
The problem for me with shoprunner is they require an actual credit card just to enroll and I'm not interested in anyway in having credit cards.

Not a problem for me as Amex owns my soul and then some.

Free Shoprunner FTW.

Hate to inform you, I just partially went through the sign-up process, Newegg Premier too requires a credit card with a corresponding shipping address.

So it doesn't take bank cards? I have bank cards just not credit cards.
 
Just used my paypal card to enroll. Didn't have a a problem so it appears you can use bank cards. As long as it's got the logo you're good.
 
I've been trying to register into the trial of Newegg Premier but no matter how I enter my address or any of my various credit cards, it insists my information is all incorrect. Kind of aggravating.

Has anyone else been able to successfully register? I'm curious if it's just me.
 
I ordered a new power supply with free 4-7 day shipping at 11:00PM on Sunday. Received it today. Newegg is the shiz, ignore the haters.

I'll see your Newegg and raise you an Amazon.com. I ordered a USB 3.0 7-Port Hub and Multi-Card USB 3.0 Reader early on Saturday morning and received it the following Super Bowl Sunday afternoon.... that's right, I said Sunday. The shipping was in partnership with USPS.

And.... I only requested FREE 5-8 business day shipping and am not even a Prime member any longer. 🙂

Shoprunner doesn't do that. Shoprunner guarantees shipping times, but not processing time. Normally, if you want guaranteed processing time, you need to upgrade your shipping.
 
a great way to eliminate newegg restocking fees is to buy stuff from amazon.

seriously. putting stuff that should be standard customer service in a premier tier is lame.
 
Don't use Newegg enough to even consider. Even with PC parts I've been finding better deals on Amazon the last couple times I've looked, so I'll stick with that.
 
expedited shipping with NewEgg has always felt like a joke/waste of money to me.

the few times I've used it, I don't recall ever receiving an item noticeably faster than otherwise.

Cheaper than Amazon for the subscription cost obviously doesn't have the other video and kindle benefits of Prime.

Looks interesting, but one thing I'd like to see is an extended return window for Premier users -- maybe 60 days? I'd probably subscribe then. I've been burned a couple of times with their 30 day return window and had to use agonizingly slow manufacturer RMAs instead.
 
Get Shoprunner for free with my AMEX card. Can't replace Amazon Prime anyway. Amazon is like a huge online department store and I do a ton of shopping there. Newegg is like a specialty shop and not so much.

Indeed. $50 for what amounts to AYCE FedEx Express Saver from Newegg isn't that good of a deal when Amazon has more merchandise and faster shipping. I'll give Newegg credit for trying, but they simply aren't going to be able to match Amazon's logistics.
 
it would be great for someone that shops a lot on newegg. the no restocking fee with complimentary return shipping is pretty sweet. i think they have a certain tag that they put on some items that doesn't fit under the regular warrenty policy. you can only get store credit or something. as long as they don't apply that to everything that would be a good perk imho.
 
Shoprunner is free for AMEX members. I've used it quite a bit, both at newegg and with other SR vendors.
 
So they are doing away with shoprunner? or will keep both? If they are doing away with shoprunner then that's another nail in their coffin.
 
Meh, so it's like Amazon Prime but with worse shipping. Amazon does the free return shipping and no restocking fee without a subscription too.

Might as well buy your parts on Amazon.

That's what many people do these days, Newegg is still excellent for researching what you need, then go and buy on Amazon!! Its like the best buy for computer parts 😀
