what gives? they used to be a reliable seller now you have to go to the manufactuers site to try and find what warranty the product has.

seems they are pushing their warranty and not the manuf so you spend more money on something that is free from the manuf.

seems they are trying to bilk extra money out of you since they know the part will fail after 2 years

If you read their site, you automatically get a 1 year warranty from NewEgg (standard return policy)
"Products sold by Newegg.com are supported by our Standard Return Policy unless otherwise indicated. Merchandise under our Standard Return Policy may be returned within 30 days of the original invoice date for a refund or within one year of the original invoice date for a replacement. All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Because many companies offer additional factory coverage, you should contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding eligibility and specific Terms and Conditions."

This aleviates them from having to keep track of manufacturer's warranties, while still providing good customer service. Why is it so difficult to go to the manufacturer's site to find out warranty coverage anyway? Most of the time, Newegg gives you a link...

Also, I have noticed that sometimes when they DO list a manufacturer's warranty length, it is not always accurate.
