That's pretty cool. I can pick up a card and use the GPU as a dedicated PhysX card with my GTX 295.

Uhh, i read about this, this 9600GSO would make your system perform worse, 2 high power GPU's can spare the clock cycles, and anyways, like 10% of games use PhysX

Yeah, I just read a little. I think a standard 9600GT or 9800GT would be better. I do play a few games that use PhysX regularly though.

the GTS250 is actually only 109.99 after all the rebates and stuff. It's listed as $129.99 then $10 rebate, $10 promo code + free ship.

At some point its cheaper buying a new mobo + cpu and selling the old stuff than buying an overpriced underpowered card.

My 4870 just poofed on me...and the 4850s are so cheap, I'm tempted to get one for the interim between RMA'ing.. 😱

Not always cheaper, but a better use of your money for sure. Best AGP card available is the Radeon 3850. Decent, but the AGP version is ~$120 for a card that's normally $40 in PCIe form. And that extra $80 is just about enough to buy a new motherboard and CPU, if you cheap out. Even if you do go cheap you'll probably still have something better than your current AGP mobo + CPU.

A better deal for AGP to replace a Radeon 9600 would be something like a Radeon HD2600 Pro for around $60-$70. Expensive for what it is, but technically cheaper than upgrading your whole system (mobo + CPU + video).

This is going to sound like a totally newb question, but here it goes. I recently built a new computer with AMD Phenom x4 920, 4gb of 1066 ram, etc. I carried over the nvidia 6600gt 128mb video card from my old system temporarilly. I've been having some issues with it freezing up the computer when I play WOW with dual monitors.

My question is this.... is the sapphire 4850 radeon with 512mb fine for playing wow with a dual monitor setup, or should I go with the 1gb version?
